Even if I give you that point....Illinois still would have lost what you consider a fair game because they didn't stop the dribble drive. Maybe that's too big of an assumption to make, but I don't see that as that big of a limb for me to be out on. Illinois very well may have lost, but it wasn't a well officiated game. cripes, the Gophers took WI to OT and couldnt beat them tonight in the Barn. I'm not upset over Illinois loosing, but its hard to say "we would have beaten you fair and square" when fair and square never entered the picture.

I've never heard the Coryell style referred to as West Coast. Every time I've heard west coast offense it has been describing the Bill Walsh, high completion percentage/passing game used as a replacement for the running game style. Wiki it.

Actually both styles of offense are often referred to as "WEST COAST", so I'm not sure what lesson Theo is providing

Well, the original west coast offense, aka coryell. Bates is a follower of the pass control offense of the 49ers in the 80's, the fake west coast offense
