  1. I mean, Joe just SLIGHTLY tweaked the lineup and I feel like it's the biggest gamble of my life
  2. Who am I kidding I'm nervous as horsefeathers. I might be able to eat
  3. drop some vodka in that water and you've got yourself a good old fashioned eastern blockade model's diet.
  4. I just read that and then played with baseball savant numbers, and it seems like the cubs have done a good job of making good contact but without results. regression to the mean: they're due
  5. Fowler, Bryant, Zo gives you three righties in a row for Hill to navigate, but probably more so, since Rizzo has been struggling, Zo batting 3rd forces them to feed Bryant more then Rizzo would batting 3rd
  6. ok, i take it back, people ARE overstating the soler in the OF thing (which is hard to do) I ment this: Bryant 3B Zobrist LF Rizzo 1B Baez 2B Soler RF :)))))
  7. my wife makes a chicken tortilla that is very much a different animal from this. Here as well. however, chicken broth and corn can find their way into a really nice chicken (white chili).
  8. I make the chili like I normally would, then sear the pork and throw it in for several hours. I usually make it in the morning on a Sunday and it cooks throughout the first games and is ready for around halftime of the second games. My typical recipe is very similar to what Drew Magary once wrote about and reposts every year. But I have more beans and more types of beans. Kidney, white, black you name it. The can of corn and chicken broth were both valuable additions I hadn't considered before reading his recipe. http://deadspin.com/5882376/the-drew-magary-super-bowl-chili-recipe looks tasty. however, I rely on my mothers recipe which I cannot disclose. I have tried this also, and it is basic, thick eat-with-a-fork chili that works well as a substitute http://asweetlife.org/recipes/simple-perfect-chili/
  9. why are you talking about the sad past. lets discuss the glorious present and future
  10. whats the chance of a NL DH?
  11. I didn't know that chili w/o beans was actually possible. I mean, even white chili has beans. Chili w/o beans just sounds like diarrhea.
  12. You know, I see where we failed, we used to have loving, embellished game thread starts and the last two (including this one) have been a bit dry. Comon guys.
  13. Do t you get it? They're the little guys! David, to our Goliath They're clearly stealing signs, that's why they're so paranoid. That makes sense
  14. Eh, I'm just tired of the narrative. If you're going to stick with Cutler, then get a coach / scheme to maximize his abilities. Jon Fox was a disastrous hire for that. And if you are going with Fox, draft a horsefeathering qb, get Cutlers replacement. Pick a horsefeathering direction.
  15. Yes you draft a qb regardless of who HC/OC/ whomever is here
  16. My daughter sits directly next to me and asks all kinds of baseball-y questions, until she can sense the Cobs aren't doing so well and my blood pressure is on the rise. Then, she grabs the iPad and starts mine-crafting on the other side of the couch and ignores the game.
  17. wait, you're a jags fan? or was that some misguided projection No it was an allusion to the most famous gif on the internet* used when people say ridiuclous things* like "stop drinking during sports" *IMO http://www.reactiongifs.com/r/2013/02/incredulous.gif I dont think I have ever envisioned Sofa to be anything like that gif
  18. [tweet] [/tweet] [tweet] [/tweet] well alshon, score some touchdowns and horsefeathers
