  1. Ehh, game 3, Cubs offense was ice cold and Hill left a few up. I don't anticipate the offense being cold in game 7, if we get there i don't think what the offense has done the last two days has much bearing on what will happen vs kershaw and hill in 40 degrees this weekend. that doesn't mean i'm all that worried, either, mind you. (nor was that really my point...it's that you would never guess that both we wouldn't feel supremely confident with jake vs rich hill in a game 7 and that we'd get to game 7 of the NLCS despite jake not being god mode) The temp was in the 70's game 1 and the offense was meh save Montero. The biggest change is Russell and Rizzo, and they both had been out of it for a lifetime long time. I doubt temperature has much to do with that

  6. That's not weird. That's horsefeathering amazing.
  7. What will we do with Zobrist next year????
  8. Whatever is in that mans head needs to be bleeched out
  9. If it's so damn easy to steal on Lester, why bother planning for it?
  10. I think things like that just snowball. First, its a breakdown in swing mechs or pitch recognition. Then the player starts to press, which leads to more pressing and which ultimately starts throwing all kinds of things out of whack. See ball : hit ball is very difficult to do when ball is traveling at 95 mph one pitch and 85 the next. Keeping your concentration for months at a time isn't always possible, if not impossible. That's where being patient usually helps as you can draw walks, but if the pitchers throw strikes, its harder to work out of. I'm just glad they both were hitting the snot out of the ball
  11. watch that video 0:20 in, Contreras glove hits Gonzalez shoulder/upper arm and the hand appears to be still shadowing the plate. You can tell, because Contreras glove changes direction.
