  1. I get the impression Jon would be FAR less entertaining then Cutler on instagram
  2. I couldn't remember exactly why I had the thought Osuna wasn't worth the paper his contract is printed on, so I googled his name for a reminder. Thread title updated.
  3. https://www.houstonchronicle.com/texas-sports-nation/astros/article/Astros-place-Roberto-Osuna-on-outright-waivers-15685486.php
  4. its too bad we wasted a 2nd on him tho Yea well Tom Brady was picked in the 6th round so I'm pretty sure those are more valuable. HOF QBs picked in the 6th rd? Yea, they definitely are more valuable then 2nd rd busts
  5. Is Poe good at stuffing the run? https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/30214145/dallas-cowboys-release-dontari-poe-due-weight-performance
  6. That is shocking. Do they just need to meet the spending minimum or something? Hopefully bodes well for the conditional pick (7th to 6th) the Bears got for him. It does. They'll get a 6th for him now. its too bad we wasted a 2nd on him tho
  7. The Packers and Saint's have bad enough pass defenses, that I really don't think its fair to say those are almost certain losses. I don't know what the Bears are going to do about Henry and they have a decent enough D, so I'm okay chalking that up to a L. Now I actually don't think 9-7 is an unrealistic expectation, but the Bears D is probably good enough to carry them a few wins alone, so it really comes down to whether the offense can be consistent or not (even if they're consistently below average). 8-8 is probably my floor, but I don't think 11-5 would be crazy shocking because they've got a lot of house money with their early wins they've squeaked out, and a couple bounces or two can quickly lead to that 2-3 W spread. IF they do go 11-5 I'm already ready to call them the worst 11-5 team ever though. with that schedule, I'd say 9-7 is our ceiling, 6-10 isnt out of the realm of possibilities and 8-8 or 7-9 seems likely. But I'm optimistic.
  8. Having Foles under contract next year isn't a reason to keep playing him; it's a terrifying reality that Pace has completely mismanaged this roster. No, but it's one of the deciding factors with 2 bad options. Name another, because it isn't convincing on its own.
  9. Eh. Mitch got 40 games, Foles can get more than 4, especially since he's the one of the two that has a contract for next year. As for playcalling, it's not like someone else calling the plays will turn this into a 25 ppg scoring unit. Maybe you get to a point where 4th down conversions are made and you don't cut off half the field on the goalline, but this is still a talent issue. Having Foles under contract next year isn't a reason to keep playing him; it's a terrifying reality that Pace has completely mismanaged this roster.
  10. Have we seen him actually blame himself for stuff like this? I don't listen to his press conferences but from the tidbits I pick up I hear him say that he's so confused about what isn't working. I'm not saying playcalling is even the biggest reason they suck but it's definitely a legitimate reason. He does really weird stuff that makes no sense in the flow of the game. That said, on Sunday I watched Kingsbury call 7 straight run plays (I guess they could have been RPO's that Kyler decided to run on) during a drive that started with under 7 mins left in the game and his team down 10. They kicked a FG at like 2:45 left, and were fortunate to be able to get the ball back and score a TD, but it was really strange playcalling. So maybe he's not alone in making questionable decisions. except Foles is no Murray, thats a HUGE difference
  11. I'm more then done with Nick Foles. he's under performing Trubisky (although I realize he's played against better defenses) and is completely immobile. At least with Mitch we had the chance of a scramble.
  12. guys I'm beginning to think Foles is not the best possible choice that raw thrinks he is
  13. we're getting killed on field position so what does CP do? run it out!
  14. Watching Kershaws soul get crushed is always wonderfully fulfilling If the Dodgers choke this WS away, who will they blame?
  15. Foles current production is his basic level of play for nearly his entire career. And stat wise to date, guess who's outplayed him? Trubisky! That's not really true...his career averages across the board are noticeably higher than his numbers this year. He's been an extremely streaky QB over the course of his career though so the averages don't tell the full story I guess. When he's been bad, he's been god awful. I'm unaware of a single stat that is wildly lower and out of place with his career averages, a point or two, sure, but this is who he is 90% of the time.
  16. when? If 2018 is recent past he started 5 games and had a vastly better YPA (7.2 vs. 5.8 this year), completion percentage (72 vs 62) and QBR/Rating. Small Sample size, but he was also coming off the Super Bowl run the year prior where he performed like an elite QB. He was not actually an elite QB mind you, but the numbers he put up were elite. 2 years is a long time and the 2018 numbers wouldnt really constitute a very good QB but if he was performing at that level in Chicago this year it would make a big difference moving forward. Don't think he will for various reasons but he's probably capable of playing better than he has thus far. He's had one short stint of great play and looong stretches of below average-mundane play. Bringing him on was simply trying to catch lightening in a bottle. I still hate we traded for him when others like Dalton, Bridgewater, Newton either became available or were available.
  17. I would like to hope there is room for improvement with the offense. Maybe he is in decline or maybe its the talent around him but Foles has performed much better than this in the past, even in the recent past. when? Foles current production is his basic level of play for nearly his entire career. And stat wise to date, guess who's outplayed him? Trubisky!
  18. I think what they are trying to say is ",...look Bear fans, you'll never in a million years have a QB worth a horsefeathers so enjoy your running back instead..." which is accurate
  19. if the Bears break Goff: 17-13 bears win if they dont break Goff: 38-17 bears lose
  20. " ladies and gentleman, we're headed straight DOWN as an organization. thank you"
  21. being #1 in the division feels nice
