My earliest memory of watching an icon leave Chicago was Maddux. Not quite the same thing, but since they basically let him walk it felt the same. Me too. But Maddux was still on the rise and we hadn't won anything. That was worse. At least this group got us one, and it was glorious 7th game OT win after down 3-1
Yes but they have 5-6 guys in the 100-150 range. and a pitcher who could climb very quickly and a OF who, once he heals could also climb quickly it still sucks. I miss Bryzzo and Baez too much
It's possible thanks to Bryant being able to play everywhere, Hoyer rebuilds the minors at 1 deadline into something magnificent again. But it just points out they haven't been able to either draft or develop for some time.
If they were to get all three In that trade, I'd be walking up to Contreras, Baez AND Hendricks saying "hey guys, who wants to go to TB? i didn't mean all 3 I realized that, I am just greedy. I want alllll the prospects. How desperate is SD?

hosmer is my nightmare scenario. horsefeathers that guy. i'd deal with it if it meant getting one of SD's top guys, but imagining hosmer on the cubs is gross I'd assume a haul from SD in that scenario, but right now I'm so pessimistic I just assume Hosmer is bad at baseball, is there more to him then I'm aware of? Is he wife beater? Is his contract an albatross?
