  2. As a 2016 Cubs fan? Yes As a Cubs fan who wants win again? No
  3. Nick Foles talking about how a "team has to be great from top-down or they are just mediocre" is rich hey Nick: YOU are mediocre
  4. That's what confusing me, it's literally "flowery"? I feel like I've heard it pronounced "flu-ree" oh, i saw that on my phone and thought it was supposed to be a a snowflake flurry or something
  5. Mark Grace wore #17 for 13 years and had well over 2,000 hits with the Cubs. Obviously Kris Bryant had a much higher peak, but there is something to be said for the consistency and length of contributions from Grace. I think they lay equal claim to the number in Cubs history. horsefeathers Mark Grace I don't have lasting hate towards Grace. For me, he was one of the few bright spots between Maddux and Sosa. But if we are talking about the best representative for the Cubs to wear #17, it wasn't him. It was Bryant.
  6. That's a lot closer to what I thought, for sure
  7. That's what confusing me, it's literally "flowery"? I feel like I've heard it pronounced "flu-ree"
  8. how do you pronounce Fleury?
  9. I don't understand him. His whip is 1.18 but his era almost 5. Strike outs a decent number and doesn't walk a ton. But, he sucks
  10. Baez is such a recognizable name that he won't be the one left out in the cold.
  11. It takes a very long stretch of major losing to truly damper attendance. They can live with 80+ loss seasons a for a couple years and they will have to. You start going 90+ and prolong it for 5 years and we’ll see, but they have a huge cushion for living with losses and they’ve shown they are more than happy to do it. Unless you gut the team and trade away guys who have become legends. I could see a tank effort backfiring on them
  12. Rizzo goes yard again
  13. 15-18 years between WS wins seems totally acceptable. How completely out of character and optimistic of you, hairy To be fair he never came close to saying whether it would work Pessimism Cubs fan died 5 years ago. Change your attitude
  14. This is stupid. Bryant redefined 17. The end
  15. 15-18 years between WS wins seems totally acceptable. How completely out of character and optimistic of you, hairy
  16. Kilian might be the best thing to come of all of this. he is dominating
  17. you people using your logic just know this: it still hurts and life has no meaning
  18. Has anyone heard how Fields is doing at training camp?
  19. this thread should get its own forum
  20. The White Sox are just another team and in no way are a rival to the Cubs. That's [expletive] fan stuff. The main knock on Madrigal besides health is that people think he doesn't hit for enough power. My question, what 2nd does? Unless we find out who the other trade options were it's tough for me to criticize what they got for Kimbrel. its not that he doesn't hit for enough power, it's that he actually hits for zeeeeeeero power if he can up his BB rate, he could be a special, world-class type of lead-off hitter. but he's probably who he is at this point and thats a decent to good player, max.
  21. with all this fun money this offseason they should just buy out Heyward and send him to Japan. Tank the season with scrubs and get a great draft pick in 2023 while the traded guys start to come up
