  1. While in general I understand and agree with what you wrote, so far we haven't heard any disparaging comments from Daboll about Fields (that I've seen anyway) but we have heard/seen reports of Flores and Watson shacking up. As a result, what you wrote is pure guessing, and I tend to think the opposite is more likely to be true: the best bet IS Daboll. It doesn't seem that hard to understand at all. Yes, what I wrote was pure guessing. That was the point of the post. Daboll makes sense, but the reason for not going him that would also make sense is what I wrote. We aren't going to hear comments from Daboll saying he doesn't like Fields now. I think given the direction of the NFL and their rules (focused on promoting the passing game and the QB), it doesn't make sense to simply go against hiring a guy like Daboll for a bunch of reasons. The only reason would be if Daboll either didn't like Fields (and there is no proof of that) or he simply wasn't available. All other reasons are pointless overthink, imo
  2. Nostalgia, when probably like half the fan base isn't old enough to really remember his playing days. and his playing career was pretty short. i had no idea he tore up his knee in the SB and that was what ended his career, apparently. I remember the play he blew both his knees out on, it was a reverse on a kick off or punt. stupid call by the ST coordinator as they were already up by a fair amount iirc

  4. Exactly my thoughts
  5. Cake:shake ratio. I learn something new everyday
  6. just dont trade him to GB, Minnesota, Giants or WFT I could see McCaskey ok'ing a trade for Russell Wilson ETA: but other then that RE: your link; it must be a sloooooow newsweek to put out that trash
  7. this scares me. was it Watson who wanted to hitch his ride to Flores or was it mutual? I dont want another HC who wants nothing to to with our young, in-house QB I mentioned that a couple of pages ago. I don't think George wants any part of that PR hit, though it still concerns that me he wasn't 100% effusive on his commitment to fields in his press conference. I probably shouldn't think too much of it though... that concerns me with a new coach
  8. Before the season in a season preview piece he said he'd eat his laptop if the 2005 Bears won the NFC North. https://sports.yahoo.com/news/read-react-last-call-020000907--nfl.html I definitely remember that. I do not, but funny
  9. i dont remember that, what was it about?

  11. He's done an admirable job, but I'd still prefer Daboll, and, I've come full circle on Desai. What would the chances be that a Daboll head coach/Desai DC could work? The bears ended up 6th in total yards on D.
  12. Who says Frazier is a top candidate?
  13. Did Baker die?
  14. It's simple, stupid. Hire the guy who has an awesome offense and can scheme around talent AND has shown the ability to develop a young quarterback. It's the best odds out there. Stop horsefeathering around with defensive coaches who leave big question marks open on offense
  15. The bears are the best open coaching location Daboll will interview and makes all the horsefeathering sense Raw remains cautious I'm teasing, I'm back to the guy who I felt the best about at the beginning of all of this. I think the question now is, will McCaskey agree? This could end beautifully
  16. Yea, the Bills look amazing
  17. Yuk Bye Flores
  18. it does take at least 2 to fight, which is also known as a tangle
  19. Ideally, he wouldn't deal with Fields too much. Hire a good OC and let them run the offense and stay out of the way/lead the rest of the team. that's exactly what I'm referring to, WHO would be the OC? In some cases, that becomes a harder question to answer than HC, particularity in Flores case
  20. Flores is not someone I would have thought would be available, nor did I think he would be a great choice when he did become available. However, I didnt realize his last two season have been 10-6 and 9-7. I'm really warming up to him, but how he would deal with Fields is my #1 concern.
  21. Finally, news I can live with
  22. A blood letting feels good to me
