  1. Trestman is a lawyer? wow
  2. he could be my former boss's twin. they both suck in life and in the looks department
  3. I mean, this is kinda most of the HCs at any given time. not true: Mike Martz
  4. yes, this, but also he seemed to be unwilling to try and work a scheme around Jay, and instead wanted his own "type" of QB to work with in his system. What worries me is that he may end up feeling this way about Fields as well. In general, I sour very quickly on scheme-first-players-later type of coaches. Another coach of that ilk was Mike Martz, for instance. also, I dont know why I typed Pollard, I meant Ballard
  5. Wait, who is Pollard? He was wrong about Cutler 12 years ago. He was a 33-year old hot shot coach that thought he could do no wrong after jumping to prominence really early in his career. Now, he presumably has been being groomed by Belichick the last 10 years more than he was probably was as a 30-year old. Coaches tend to do a lot better when given a 2nd chance. Belichick himself wasn't great in Cleveland. Plus, I think this time McDaniels would be able to bring in his own GM, like Shanahan in SF. So he wouldn't be making major personnel decisions by himself. Ok, yea sure. That all makes sense. I still don't trust him
  6. I hate the idea of hiring McDaniels. He was anti-Cutty and wrong about that, anti Pollard and wrong about that. He strikes me as a big ego guy "my way or the highway" and as it turns out, his way is a dirt road
  7. If this is the last game Nagy wins I'd be super happy
  8. It might be kind of cool to have Tim on as your first guest to talk about the genesis of NSBB way back when the ESPN boards and MLB were a cesspool. Talk about spikes in people signing up for the board, board and troll management (Modzilla), and the ups and downs of maintaining a website dedicated to the Cubs during good and bad runs. But, I would definitely focus most of the podcasts on the current team and climate. The trick will be trying to stay balanced with criticism if you want to try to attract media types or get some time with players or Cubs people. this sounds like nsbblol
  9. It's the bean shaped like at "L" as in loss, and the Cardinal as its maker Whatever chump, if the Cardinals were ever that horsefeathering good they never would have left Chicago
  10. Some Bears site floated Payton or Tomlin as candidates to replace Nagy. The guy is full of it but this is how things turn into rumors. Yeah, it's the old "maybe he needs a change of scenery" idea. Both have been with their teams a long while and only have 1 ring despite being mostly contenders for years (never a losing season in Tomlin's case). But they both also have cushy jobs. Steeler fans call for Tomlin's head quite a bit, but he ain't going anywhere unless he wants to. They simply don't fire coaches. Saints fans would probably never call for Payton's job, and he has a FO that he has worked with for ages. Again, not going anywhere unless he thinks it's time. That site (believe it was SportsMockery) is just trying to push those longshot chances into reality. its just click bait, gotta sell the ads
  11. Sean Payton? Is he on the rocks in NO?
  12. I think that’s not what happened. Occam’s razor: the Bears are inept and the reporter got bad information from a high placed source. Yea I think what's interesting is the possibility that the source was high enough to seem unimpeachable as a source, but who has ulterior motive in leaking information. You mean like, Matt Nagy himself?
  13. I think it's possible that McCaskey threatens to fire him if he lost to Detroit. I think it's also possible Nagy begged for forgiveness and was granted it, and was lucky to only have to play the Lions and won. But horsefeathers Patchy dude. Even if he did have the one organizational leak (out of hundreds of reporters in the Chicago metroplex) to get the story, he clearly underestimated the situation Whatever
  14. Because you can never overthink a situation?
  15. I didn't realize Leftwich was OC during Winston's 5000 yd year, hell I didn't even realize he threw for 5000 yards. That is pretty amazing
  16. I'm curious about Leftwich, how much of TBs success is him and how much is Brady? Daboll is also interesting. Don't know about Roman
  17. I'm not sure what there is for you like so much, but I blame him for the defenses struggles closing out games. Maybe that's unfair, but he doesn't stile me as someone I'd hang onto if Nagy and Co go. I want/expect a clean slate so I'm fine with him not being back in 2022, but I think he has a future in this league. Wildcard though is a Greg Roman hire who has worked a lot with Fangio and may like to hire from that tree.... I thought Desai was from the Fangio tree?
  18. I haven't seen anything from a Matt Nagy led team in the last 3 years that would make me feel like they could have had 20 points if they wanted. In fact, kicking the FG as time expired felt like a sea change to me
  19. I'm not sure what there is for you like so much, but I blame him for the defenses struggles closing out games. Maybe that's unfair, but he doesn't stile me as someone I'd hang onto if Nagy and Co go. I think most of the problems are personnel honestly. I think, given the injuries especially, the Bears having an average defense (based on DVOA) is damn near a miracle. Average, but with pro bowlers at all 3 levels (Mack, Quinn, Smith, Johnson). Granted injuries have taken their toll, average seems about right and maybe low to me. Of course, I made the orig post when it looked like Detroit was headed for a third touchdown until they self imploded
  20. Why? Yeah I feel like he might be the one non-uniformed person in the org I still like I'm not sure what there is for you like so much, but I blame him for the defenses struggles closing out games. Maybe that's unfair, but he doesn't stile me as someone I'd hang onto if Nagy and Co go.
  21. I'd have gone with horsefeathers youYou are correct sir my mistake
  22. I don't get how a hold can negate the first touch. Only my teams?
