  1. I think its just the way McCaskey runs the entire team; its a family business so he personally picks Poles up. It can be seen as rubish but honestly I really dont mind Geo doing it. Welcome to Chicago, Ryan
  2. that dude drives a Chrysler Town and Country mini van.
  3. no this is wrong. we WANT minnesota to hire quinn please god please (whatever, I'll be extremely surprised, bewildered albeit exuberant if Quinn came to Chicago and it was the right choice...but I'll live)
  4. 10 mn OT, deal with the coinflip the way mentioned above (1st quarter who received receives, if it goes to 2OT the half time team who received receives, etc). 1 OT for reg season and after that ends in a tie, play until someone ends an OT on top in the postseason. I really hate the gimmicks, the ("you win if you score a TD, but not a FG" kind of crap we have now, etc). Just play it out. Yesterday Mahomes and Allen might have thrown for 7 TD ea if you let them go at it.
  5. What about Denver? delusional
  6. I haven't lived in an area that reports on chicago-based stuff in nearly 3 decades, but the internet exists so it's readily available. I apologize jersey, I had no idea they were approaching it this way and didn't realize it would bother you so much that I didn't do the proper independent research. I mean, part of the reason I post here is to get the links you all post from reports back in Chicago to help educate me on these things - but maybe that's a horrible reason
  7. is that the entire hiring committee? I ddin't realize they had more then just Geo and Ted, outside of the consultant group how are you this angry about how they are doing this without knowing how they are doing this? It's been widely reported and discussed that the committee includes those specific people. well, first of all I'm not angry, just bored with the search. second of all, where I live very little about the upper Midwest/Chicago in general gets reported, much less the Bears specifically. If it was posted here then I either missed it or failed to pile linked tweets to find it. Like, I had to google "Tanesha Bears" to find out they had this larger committee, and I only saw her name in wrigleys post

  9. at this point my process would go do you like justin fields? yes - cool. no - eliminated will you hire Daboll? yes - cool. no eliminated should get there pretty quickly Seems like a bad process tbh probably, but at this point who cares
  10. Based on current names I agree. Ireland was a big one I didn't want but haven't heard much there. Part of that is its too hard to judge GMs. All first timers, but all seem reasonable so let's roll the damn dice. at this point my process would go do you like justin fields? yes - cool. no - eliminated will you hire Daboll? yes - cool. no eliminated should get there pretty quickly
  11. yes, all of this
  12. yes, he should stay a DC
  13. I'm not a fan of any of those names but of them I like Caldwell the most. Definitely not exciting but has an offensive background, is a players coach, and has led good offenses, though he seems to be a low ceiling guy based on his tenures with the Colts and Lions. yuk. Id love to be proven wrong, but I'm just not sold
  14. Jim Caldwell? seriously?
  15. this is horsefeathering terrible
  16. they are better then what the NFL has
  17. I think the latter. It's one reason that I like the wide net approach. You can almost crowdsource HC candidates by what the GM candidates say and vice versa for the GM. That's not a literal statement, but the Bears could be making a simple Venn diagram of who everyone likes and who everyone is concerned about. The other thing is you get to hear 10 GM candidates tell you what is wrong with your team and how to fix it. There must be some level of common answers that are irrefutable even to non-football guys like George. good points, otoh I wish (after decades of being entirely immersed in it) Geo would develop some football sense of his own. alas....crowdsourcing and Venn diagrams it is!
  18. There is if Daboll gets hired while Geo is pondering what salad to have at his next GM interview. He's had time, in fact this year he's had more time then in past What if.....I know, long shot.....but what if there is more than 1 good candidate? thats kind of the point, raw. McCaskeys had time to start the search, interview people, and even ponder the meaning of life. There are probably more then one good candidate for GM and HC, but if you are serious about developing Fields there is really only the best choice. Judging by the glacier pace of the process, McCaskey either doesn't feel that developing Fields is a priority or he's too dense to understand how to do that.
  19. I hate this. How they don't have a GM in place by now is criminal Eh? It's not the worst thing in the world, yet. If they don't have one until the super bowl, that's a problem. But there's nothing wrong with waiting until this week. There is if Daboll gets hired while Geo is pondering what salad to have at his next GM interview. He's had time, in fact this year he's had more time then in past
  20. I hate this. How they don't have a GM in place by now is criminal
  21. My guess is they've said to potential GMs "if you want Frazier, go somewhere else" Maybe Frazier us pulling his name, doesn't want to be a HC
  22. Do you remember when the Bears traded Urlacher just before his peak? About that much of a chance
  23. Mr McCaskey, get on the phone already and make the horsefeathering hire
  24. Give him the Gruden deal, 10/$100 I don't care This game is a perfect audition for Daboll vs Frazier #hireDaboll
