  1. I'm pretty sure Revis is the best corner in the league.
  2. If the defense were playing well and there was any thought we could slow down their offense, I'd agree with you. But if we're down 10 and it takes us 8 minutes to drive down and score and then we can't stop them, we're not gaining any ground plus we're shortening a game that we're trailing. If your defense can't stop them they can't stop them so even if you score in 2 minutes instead of 6 minutes you still aren't gaining ground. A defense that gets to rest though is more likely to stop the opposing team. As far as shortening the game. You're down a couple scores and you have a full half left. You don't need to score quick you just need to score. Not saying it would have made a difference today. It is more a general observation for all teams. Why abandon what works best for your offense in teh first half when you are down a couple scores?
  3. I agree with you at this point on Vince. Might as well go with Vince and see what he can do this year in preparation for next year. As for going more with LenDale, Fisher still apparently thinks we can win this. If that's the case, getting 2-4 yards a carry won't get us 27 points in a half. We need the big play and that comes from CJ. Yeah the LenDale comment was more about for the future. LenDale has like 25 carries all season. I've been wanting more LenDale too to start games, but we've been in too many holes to really use him consistently this season. You have gotten down early but if its still early in the game you should still go with what works best. Just because you are down 10-14 points in the first half doesn't mean you should abandon what you game planned to do because you thought it was the best way to move the ball. I've never understood that. Sure in the 4th quarter start passing because you need to score fast but don't do that in the first half. Use LenDale to wear down the defense some.

  5. Yeah I'm playing my nephew who is starting him. I was happy to see him starting when I was watching pregame. Not too happy about it now.
  6. lol this was Dick Stockton's call on Addai's TD He said Addai when he got the handoff, then when he broke free, then again when he crossed the goal line.
  7. Is Vince Young going to put in? At this point what do you have to lose? Fisher is coaching weird. Why is LenDale not getting the ball. He's not flashy but he gets 2-4 yards every carry. CJ gets 0 yards or 10 yards every carry. They need to go back to what they did last year. Pound it with LenDale and then change it up with CJ.
  8. So i got no halftime updates because New Orleans has a tornado warning going around Lake Pontchartrain. The worst part is that when they cut to the studio in New Orleans there was no sound for 20 seconds. When they finally got it turned on it was all messed up and having surges causing the audio to kick out from time to time. It is still going on even though they are showing the game now.
  9. God you're making me hungry. I haven't had good jambalya in years. I had some at the high school game I was covering last week. Didn't even make it to halftime.
  10. With both QB's sucking.
  11. If it wasn't for the goalline D this game would have been over long ago.
  12. wow great special teams
  13. God I hate ND> Just win big so I don't get my hopes up.
  14. Ok now I stand by what I said a couple minutes ago. ND is going to escape again. They are set up to go down and score and leave no time on the clock. Golden Tate will make some kind of big play.
  15. was it on a field goal? Yes, and replay showed absolutely nothing. A totally made-up call. you can't line up directly over the snapper (or can't double team the snapper) on field goals and extra-point trys I thought there was a rule about that. They definitely had two guys jump right onto the center.
  16. Is there a rule about not having two guys go over the center? Sounds vaguely familiar. That's all I can think of.
  17. Notre Dame is going to escape again. Golden Tate will make a play and win it. edit: nevermind. roughing the snapper ...
  18. 5-0? Not sure about that. Purdue was very fortunate to even have a chance to win the game when they turned the ball over SIX times. Purdue was completely outplayed by NIU when the Huskies beat them a few weeks ago too, so I'm not really seeing how they should be 5-0. If you can nearly beat Oregon on the road you should be able to beat NIU. I still have no idea what team that was that showed up to play NIU. Oregon game we were up 24-17 and had the momentum and then a fumble return for TD turned it towards the end of the 3rd. Already explained NIU. ND scores with 25 seconds to win. Then today we lead all game until Northwestern scores with a couple minutes remaining. The game finishes when we fail to score from inside the 10 on four chances.
  19. 1-4 when we could easily be 5-0. Talk about not knowing how to finish.
  20. Part of me feels bad for him but part of me is happy.
  21. Found this ESPN poll interesting. Given the choice would you rather have a great offense or a great defense. Overall results as of now are 67% defense. The interesting part is that every state, and the rest of the world, voted a majority defense except Indiana.
  22. Its one thing to dive to deceive, and another to sell a call. If teams don't want their opponents "stealing signs", then they should do more to prevent it, since it's part of the game and happens during play. Just as football teams work hard to prevent teams from stealing signals. What makes baseball so damned sacred to people? If Joe Mauer figured out the signals, good on him. Yeah. There's a very big difference between a guy penalty hunting by jumping over a defender's leg and going down, and getting bumped or knocked off balance and going down to try to pick up a penalty. Not all dives are the same. I hate the former but don't really mind the latter. I would agree with that. I always hated divers of all kinds though. It wasn't so much that they dove as it was that most refs at the high school level operate under the guide of if someone falls there must have been a foul. One kid at a rival school was a really bad diver. Everyone knew it and if he got anywhere near someone else and thought he wasn't going to win he would dive. Got a lot of calls on that crap. He also broke his collarbone in each of his last three seasons so karma got him back.
  23. I played soccer and tennis before transferring to Ball State because the school I was at barely had a Comm department let alone TCOM. And as far as diving in soccer goes, you as a player yourself should know how controversial that topic is. A lot of players would dive every chance they get and some players would never dive. I never dove but that was more so because when I was fighting for a ball the thought wouldn't pop in my head. If the thought did occur I would rather stay in and try to win the ball rather than risk diving and not getting the call.
  24. Oh right. I forgot. I guess I didn't play sports in high school and college. Please go back to not posting. It's been nice while you were away.
  25. What do you mean you don't "agree with it"? Why should stealing signs be against the rules? We can argue for week on this but I don't feel like it. You don't see it as anything wrong. I see it as very unsportsmanlike.
