  1. I watched the Ball State/Purdue Wooden Tradition and could barely stand it - Purdue was absolutely creaming our guys every time we tried to do anything, and touch fouls were getting called at the other end. It's pretty easy to be 'aggressive' defensively when your strategy is the 'they can't call fouls every time down the floor' technique. :cray: It is a contact sport and I have little interest in the NBA other than the Rockets because of how pussified it is. The ACC is close to the NBA. The Big Ten's physicality and policy of allowing contact is what I love most about it.
  2. wow adam james is just getting killed by those people. maybe he's just an [expletive]. Reading those comments reminds me of some people in my life. People with an overdeveloped sense of entitlement suck. Just shut up and get the job done, nobody wants to hear the whining. I agree. However sticking them in a room for hours to stare at a wall isn't productive and is wrong. Wrong enough to get fired? No. Leach, however, forced the school's hand by taking it to court. The school had to do it due diligence and investigate the incident. Judging for the emails it wouldn't have taken long to see James was a bad kid and what Leach did wasn't too bad. What is a school supposed to do when there is a potentially major incident that the coach blocks you from investigating? You have to be allowed to investigate especially in this day and age when coaches are found to have cheated often.
  3. I'm still waiting for Leach to say it was punishment for something other than for being hurt. I would fire any coach who punishes kids for being hurt. It's not necessarily what happened but Leach has yet to say it was anything else.
  4. I love this one. http://i.cdn.turner.com/si/multimedia/photo_gallery/0912/all-decade.top.si.photos.of.the.decade/images/kluetmeier.ophs-1084-mid.jpg
  5. Worst part of the video is the announcers saying that they think he got an elbow or something to the throat then after watching for 5 seconds say that it is actually a rolled ankle.
  6. So Daryl Morey updates his status after every Rockets game on facebook. After last night another former Purdue player came and posted about how nice it is to see Landry work so hard and all that. Morey, who normally doesn't respond after posting his status, just commented saying, "I hear there are some more Boilermakers potentially headed to the NBA." I'm not reading too much into it but I'm intrigued that he wrote that. Like I said he rarely comments on his status' so to write that is uncommon and means he is probably potentially looking at all three of Moore, JJ and Hummel. Hummel is the type he likes to get normally (guy who does a lot of things and is big for his position) but Budinger is essentially Hummel. I would say Morey would really like to get JJ but I doubt he will have a high enough pick. Moore would make a lot of sense for us though. We don't really have a SG other than T-Mac and he is gone after this year.
  7. Anyone know where I can get yards after first contact stats for RB. Can't seem to find them.
  8. fail :P
  9. I have no idea what you are laughing at. I got it right ... the second time. Again why I shouldn't post just before going to bed. Probably the spelling. You reap what you sow, not sew. I was being sarcastic. I edited the first post so I got right the second time. BTW we really need to get a smiley for a joke that goes over someones head. Either wind going over the head or the hand motion everyone makes.
  10. Having nothing to do at work, your laptop, wi-fi, ESPN360 and getting paid to watch MSU vs. Texas = WIN
  11. I have no idea what you are laughing at. I got it right ... the second time. Again why I shouldn't post just before going to bed.
  12. I think you need to play a majority of the decade. Say the average player plays in 150 games a year. Multiply that by 5 and you get 750 games. You need to account for people ho pinch hit a lot or came off the bench early in their career. So I would then multiply that 750 by 9 to account for innings. That is 6750 innings. Looking it up Utley play over 7100 innings this decade so I'm OK with him being one of the four choices.
  13. So you're basing all this on assumptions? Everett is easily the right choice. Rolen is awesome. You seem as if you just wanted to be outraged and assumed everyone here would hate ESPN enough to tear apart the list with you. It's a good list. I don't have a problem with Everett or Rolen. Scott Rolen would be my vote. I do have a problem with Pujols and Utley. I don't think Pujols is the top defender at his position. Maybe I'm wrong. I'll have to look into more. As for Utley, he is great but only played half the decade. How can you be the best of a decade when you only played half of it.
  14. Yes they are all good defenders but pretty easily not the top four. As people mentioned Lee and Helton are above Pujols at 1B then there is Mientkiewicz. At other positions the previously mentioned Beltre, I would assume Orlando Cabrera has been pretty good at SS from all the talk he gets for defense, Izturis wouldn't have played as long as he did if he wasn't a very good defender, Placido Polanco won how many GG's at 2B (I know not that great of an award)? I'm sure there are a few others as I'm not big into the defense side of the game.
  15. It will be a greater feat if they can do it without getting on probation ;-). Like Kentucky fans care. They will care when they have recruiting sanctions put on them. You reap what you sow.
  16. I do when you are an old QB who has worn down in recent years and the game means nothing.
  17. They have this poll on the front page right now. Who is the best infielder of the last decade? Adam Everett Albert Pujols Scott Rolen Chase Utley Really? Really really? This is beyond their normal bad crap.
  18. Totally read that as Brees' performance next week.
  19. So do I.
  20. Again, it happening more than once makes me think it is for a wildcat type formation to utilize Jackson's speed and running ability. Favre needs to suck it up. McNabb has put away his ego for Vick. Favre needs to tdo the same or get the F out of the league. If I was the coach I wouldn't stand for it. The player needs to be a player and not a coach and no matter who he is if he refuses to do what the coach tells him to then he needs to be benched until he will do as told. Obviously if it's a do or die game and a guy like Favre you don't bench him (reprimand him later) but in this case it wasn't a must win for Minnesota. Childress should have pulled him and let him know that he is still a player, no different than AP or any other player.
  21. You don't take out someone who is/was in the MVP voting and led the NFL in QB rating for a good portion of the season when you are down one point. I would hope he would want to play. This is more just pure Favre hatred. My brother who lives in Wisconsin said the news is saying he has done it multiple times this season. This would make me think that the idea is that Jackson would run a wildcat type formation to "provide a spark." Therefore Favre is a egomaniac who needs to put in line. Yes he is a HOF and yes he is doing great but undermining the coach shouldn't be allowed no matter who you are.
  22. His last two games' ratings: 79.4 and 73.2. Crappy in comparison to the rest of his games this season and compared to what so many QB's are doing this season.
  23. cute cuddly cubs ... sounds like a new slogan to go with the logo switch.
  24. Definite catch. Now just miss the XP to make this game even more interesting.
  25. And he's on my bench. I have Brees and Schaub. Not that it really matters cause I will still make the championship in that league as long as Steve Smith maintains a 21 point lead against Giants defense (defenses average 15-20 points a week).
