  1. It wasn't flagrant. He reached for the ball, or at least where he thought the ball was. I realize that but the way that fell makes it one of the cases where the refs sometimes call it flagrant and sometimes don't hence why I said it could be called either way.
  2. That could be a flagrant and could not. Borderline one. I don't think I would call it.
  3. Two possessions in a row (one Butler, one Duke) Zoubek has out right shoved Howard out of the lane. Howard fell down on the Butler possession and was no where for the rebound on Duke's. I really don't like Zoubek and I really didn't care one way or the other about him before the tourney.
  4. So what plays will be in One Shining Moment? I would guess Kramer's lay-up will be in there.
  5. He'll definitely foul out.
  6. like i was saying, between the moving screens up high and basically standing in the lane shoving and reaching over people on the offensive boards, zoubek has to commit about 30 fouls a game. i have no idea how he doesn't foul out all the time. he's the white reggie love. Yeah he sets illegal screens every time. He either moves to hold the guy a second more or he raises his elbows/steps into the screen to knock the guy down. when he sets screens at the three point line he starts out legally, but then he pretty much takes the two defenders and pushes them toward the baset while one of the other white guys spots up for a wide open three. Drove me crazy during the Purdue game. They called it once on him and then allowed him to do it the rest of the game.

  8. Scheyer was sliding the whole time.
  9. The sad thing is, Nantz isn't really that bad a play by play guy. He's a bit vanilla, but tolerable. Those stupid staged endings are his only real flaw, but it's so glaringly dumb. Nantz is the perfect announcer for golf and I look forward to him announcing the Masters every year but he is not good for quick action sports.
  10. I think the game has been reffed pretty well but the refs have definitely treated Howard differently. They have allowed loads of contact but every time Howard touched someone they called a foul.
  11. Well then I guess there is only one thing left to do ...
  12. This gave me a chuckle. It was one Of Rob Neyer's text style comments on ESPN MLB front page. "I've been saying that I'll watch Royals only when Greinke starts ... but I think I'll watch only when he's actually PITCHING. "
  13. Part of the rivalry between the Cubs and Cardinals is that throughout the two cities history they have been rivals. They were both big cities in the west for a long time and, according to a tour guide I had on a 6th grade trip to Chicago, St. Louis has actually sued Chicago way back when over Chicago putting all their trash in the river. The trash would follow the current and go down to St. Louis. I remember the tour guide saying there was once so much trash in the river that you could walk across the river on top of trash.
  14. Well I am one of three to have Matt Wieters. If I had known Heyward was starting right off the bat I likely would have taken him. I chose Wieters over Heyward because he was definitely going to start in the majors. Heyward was a question mark when I made my pick. And LOL at the person who picked Orlando Hudson. He has 77 HR's in 7+ seasons in the majors.
  15. That x-ray is disturbing
  16. I would dangle your other two 1B and see if you can get an offer that relatively close to Pujols. Then if you do make that trade and keep the best player in the game. As far as the current offers ... 1.) Probably worth it but not ideal as Blake isn't that bad. Overall you would be improving because the drop off from Pujols to Morneau would be less than the improvement from Blake to Longoria plus you would get Carp. 2.) No.
  17. I'm hoping they are saying, "[expletive] this. I won't put up with this."
  18. Not the biggest of our problems right now but we have had a number of throws off the mark. We need to do some routine infield drills and practicing outfield to cutoff to third base or home drills.
  19. Maybe because you joined at the end of last season you don't know this but this board and most Cubs fans are miserable year round.
  20. :flame: The ump is on the left. And yeah great example of why catches should be able to be replayed. They can look and see if it was caught and if not they look at video and see where runners were and they all get to advance to the base they were currently running to.
  21. Got to keep him in. You will kill your bullpen if you have them take over this early. You have a guy who is really a starter killing it so why change.
  22. So Erik do you get incredibly drunk before each game? You are acting like one of those drunk bleacher bums that are way over the top and give the bleachers a bad rap.
