I think we will shortly be at that tipping point where we must decide to go real young and see if all our top prospects pan out or stick with aging vets. The next year or two should be interesting. A team with the Cubs resources never needs to go all in with youth like that. Obviously which is why some may be traded away. We have Vitters, Castro, Jay Jackson, Cashner and Brett Jackson who will all within two years be at the normal age and experience level that they get their shot. Do we keep Zambrano or get rid of him (or one of the others) in the next year or so to make room for Cashner/Jackson. Do we let ARam go to make room for Vitters? Does Castro come up this season? When does Brett Jackson come to the majors? All those decisions will have to be made within the next year or two except perhaps Brett Jackson.
