  1. Andy Katz early top 25 for next season. I like ... a lot. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/columns/story?columnist=katz_andy&id=5060752
  2. Reminder that there is roughly just 38 hours left to get predictions in.
  3. Well I am officially rooting for the Cubs to lose so you don't get to start anymore threads.
  4. Yeah. It's a borderline ad that is trying to appeal to the guys who know what pushing themselves does. I don't like it but the ad I think is meant for a small percentage of guys.
  5. Fontenot got his hand on the plate before McCann was even done turning so he would have been safe.
  6. It's really good. Expanding on that, from BA's scouting report on him in the offseason... Thanks and damn I wish he was on Florida or Tampa so we could trade for him in a few years. Atlanta can pay him when he comes up for arby.
  7. It just occured to me I have never read about what kind of arm Heyward has. Anyone know what the scouting report on his defense is? I'm just curious if he is going to be GG capable some day in addition to hitting 40 HR's and batting .300+ every year.
  8. Wait, a lot coaches do it cause there are no good centers, yet it creates a mismatch? How? If everyone is doing it how are you gaining a mismatch? 1.) Shane Battier, Glenn Robinson or even Carl Landry isn't a talent every team has. 2.) Most teams play a guy who is tall at center even if he sucks rather than go with a small lineup. Therefore playing an athletic guy that is 6'8" or so, strong enough to battle in the post for rebounds but athletic enough and with good enough range to step out and hit jumpers or threes creates a mismatch. One of these guys is not like the others. Landry played center in college didn't he? Plus a lot of people have players like Landry in college as he was a decent college player. He's done well for himself in the NBA, but he wasn't some huge name/talent in college. Especially when compared to the other two names you listed. He wasn't talked about much because his team sucked but Landry averaged 18 and 7 his first year which was his only year with Keady. That's more points than Battier averaged in all but his senior year and Battier averaged 7 rebounds only in his senior year. I would and everyone else would take Battier given the choice but if Landry had been on a top team he would have been a household name. Also all three were used as centers predominantly (at least I think Battier was) which is what the whole conversation is about. All three players are 6'8" or shorter but where used as centers mostly.
  9. Call Dish and tell them they've screwed up their blackout. they're the ones who actually perform the blackout. Time Warner was screwed up for me on Opening Day and they got it fixed about 20 minutes after I called so you should call Dish.
  10. I've never heard of this Peachtree TV. I don't think I get that channel. Aren't you in Mississippi or something? That's further than I am from Atlanta so I'm confused why you get it and I don't. Sucks. EDIT: Never mind I just found it. Time Warner Cable doesn't have a search option like DirecTV. I had gone up to channel 150 whcih is the highest I had ever gone and is when it gets into the premium sports and movies channels. Found it at 168 and I indeed get it so :yahoo: I'm in Atlanta and there are commercials. What are you watching the game on? I don't have commercials here in SC. Maybe they only sell local Atlanta ads and thus only show them in Atlanta.
  11. In other words you keep going, "OHHH!" before realizing it has no chance?

  13. I think the key was/is Heyward. If he was the real deal they had a good offense. If he wasn't able to be good right off the bat their offense would be mediocre.
  14. wrong. outs 2 AND 3 He was right. He said at least out #2 and Theriot was indeed that. He was just out #3 in addition to it.
  15. I'm sure you can find it on Justin.tv somewhere. Haven't tried that one yet. Thanks. Haven't been to justin.tv in awhile but it looks like it isn't showing live sports anymore. It looks like a Youtube take off and just has a huge graphic wanting me to download the app.
  16. Congrats. How about you bold the "?" indicating I don't remember the exact details. perhaps you should have said "i think..." or "i'm unsure of the details, but i believe that..." instead you passed this story off as being fact, and further investigation has shown that: (a) the fines issued are significantly less than $20,000 (b) the fines were issued for something completely different than missing a station ID, and a poster found that missing a station ID warrants a $1,000 fine, so this assertion of yours could not possibly have been anything close to true, and © there's no evidence that any station, high school or other, was forced to fold as a result of outrageous FCC fines. otherwise, your story looks like it is holding up just fine. Yeah I should have put I think but I have said multiple times now I wasn't sure if it was $20,000. a.) The fines issued in the cases shown are different cases so they would have a different amount. b.) Yes you are fined $1,000 for missing a station ID. However like I have already said you can be fined for more than one and the FCC, in the rare occasion they are actually listening for station ID's which is the only way you can be caught, will normally listen for a period of time and give you a fine for every missed station ID. c.) just because we haven't found a story on the internet using google searches in the little amount of time I/we have actually spent looking doesn't mean there isn't a case.

  18. Wow. 10.1 increase in one season. Looks like Ricketts is planning on upping payroll by charging everyone more.
  19. I said dozens of high schools are fined every year. Did I ever say just in Indiana? No I didn't. You misread and made a big assumption which was wrong. I also said right from the first post I wasn't sure on all the details but I thought it was around a $20,000 fine. It was a class from two years ago and that was one story told during class so sorry I can't remember the details.
  20. :rotfl: Damn him for working so hard. Let's blame him and ignore that the young pitchers were scared to approach him meaning they are to blame as well.
