  1. Your team usually has to be, you know, good to win Big Ten POY. If Harangody leads the Big East in scoring and rebounding again (he's doing both rather easily right now) and doesn't win Big East POY, I'll be pissed regardless of ND's standing, and I'd imagine the same applies to Harris and UM. If Harris proves to be the best player, he should win the award. If not they should change it to conference MVP and be done with it. That said, I'm sure someone will prove to be at least as deserving for a more competitive team. Depends on who finishes where obviously. If Purdue finishes top 3 I could see Hummel or Johnson winning it. Johnson has been the best center in the Big Ten (16th in points, 11th in rebounds, 3rd in FG%, 1st in blocks). Meanwhile Hummel is still putting up very good numbers despite playing with a bad back and not practicing a single day since December. Plus he has the preseason player of the year going for him. People could vote for him because it makes them look good for picking him in the preseason. Right now I would vote for Harris but there isn't a clear cut definite favorite. Manny Harris is winning this and Robbie Hummel shouldn't even be on the short list. Care to try and justify that. Not that it's possible or anything.

  3. Your team usually has to be, you know, good to win Big Ten POY. Usually. He's top 2 in two of them and top six in the other. I don't know when the last time someone was that high in all three but I would venture a guess its been awhile.
  4. On a side note I hadn't realized how good Manny Harris has been for Michigan. I knew he was scoring didn't know he was rebounding and assisting too. He's 2nd in the conference in scoring, tied for league lead in rebounds, and 6th in assists. He should win BIg Ten Player of the Year.
  5. Something not mentioned yet is Marquette is dominating even with losing Crean. Crean put that team together but I always wonder when I team is able to just keep on dominating when a big name coach leaves just how good that coach really was.
  6. Good luck winning at Illinois.......that is unless we go into the "I'm pretty sure we're going to win but let's see how close we can make it" offense at the end of the game with a lead. UI almost gave the game against Wisky back because of it. Wow after beating us in overtime you seem a little confident? Purdue has won there last 3 away games....Any who I'll be there to cheer on my Boilermakers and see another big win on the road...Hopefully haha i think it was your objective journalist friend who was the one being a little overconfident. illinois at c-u is likely to be a much tougher game tham msu at purdue, so i have no idea why he chose to leap over the illini. Because MSU is in first so if Purdue gets that game without losing that can take first place. Inferiority complex or just over reaction? purdue is the team that hasn't been to a final four in forever, why on earth would anyone feel inferior to a purdue fan? but, that's some hard-hitting investigative journalism, right there. That's how it came off. There was no reason to make it about Illinois but you did. And yes Purdue hasn't been to the Final Four in a very long time which has always bugged me but they do have the most Big Ten titles.

  8. Thought it was over when Purdue got down by 5 but big threes late brought us back. It was a very much needed win. One game out of first. If we can take care of the definite should wins and get back at Illinois on the road we will be 10-2 heading into a home game against MSU.
  9. Apparently the refs are going to allow Wisconsin to throw forearms to Purdue players faces tonight. That was an ugly foul by Krabbenhoft and it went uncalled. He fully extended his arms.
  10. Watched the last bit of it. I realized a little ways in that I kept thinking everyone was so tall. Reason being I'm used to seeing 2 feet of leg skin and with the shorts back then it was like 4 feet. Just made everyone look tall to me. It was a bit weird but Purdue won.
  11. Neither? If I had to choose I would go with team B. Much higher RPI and no bad losses. The bad losses part is important to me because neither team looks good but with no bad loss maybe team B could have a good game in the first round.
  12. so my theory holds for another game Sigh, I really don't want to buy that theory because things like "Luke shoots and makes turnaround fadeaway 20-footer over Hayward" just awe me, but you're probably right. Harangody seems to be ND's new Brady Quinn - denied his deserved accolades because of an incredibly disappointing supporting cast. Except while BQ tended to have worse numbers against better teams, Luke actually plays better against them. And yet like the football team ND gets way too many votes in the polls. No way they should be ranked. Hey Cubbie we got a big game tonight...It'll be two in a row on the road against two pretty good teams With the week off I'm a little worried about how our shooting will be. We could start bad and have to rally in the second half. Although with a week of rest Kramer and Hummel should finally be 100%.
  13. No, now it stands for North Side Bragging & Bitching. :D my 6-year old son just read this post and now he won't stop saying bitching who do i need to call to talk to about this Well you probably should have started talking to a therapist a long long time ago so you should just start now.

  15. Thanks for the vote of confidence IBM!
  16. They're at least as likely to make the tournament as the other team I talk about, so why not? Oh my God, no they don't. Ball St. has like a 1% chance of making the tourney. The MAC West is terrible. Well, the MAC is definitely a one-bid league this year, so maybe he just thinks there's just as much chance Ball State wins the MAC tourney as the 8th best team as ND has winning the Big East tourney as the 9th best team. Ball State is 4-1 in the MAC currently tied for the best record in conference and they already beat one of the other 4-1 teams on the road. Not sure where you get the 8th best team in the MAC from.

But Notre Dame still has a decent chance at an at-large. You have to understand Andy. He's always down on his teams. If they are playing bad he thinks they will never win again. If they are winning he thinks they are about to go on a losing streak.
  18. Quite possible they've only made the NIT or NCAA maybe a dozen times and a bowl game I think six times (number escpaes me right now).
  19. There's obviously a reason you're 5-21 right now. Coming in Minnesota was only 2.5 games worse than Chicago. Minnesota was also playing at home, had won 8 of 10 and three weeks ago won by 10 at Chicago. Like I said earlier I have no idea what's wrong with me. I couldn't do worse than 5-21 if I tried to. I was better than 50% last month and normally do well picking games.
  20. Just another reason for me to hate the Bulls. I picked them and they go and blow a late lead. I should know better than picking their sorry butts. So much promise two years ago.
  21. I joined. I'm doing worse than if I tried to do bad. Last month I had a close to 70% correct this month I'm like 5-20. I don't know what the heck is going on. Maybe I should start picking who I think will lose.
  22. That is one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
  23. Sorry guess I should have made it clear. I was joking about joining Carolina. I would just want to mess with my old roommate and make sure he doesn't get Nate Davis. My bad.
  24. Can I join Andy's Carolina too. I just want to make really bad suggestions like passing on a QB for 10th year in a row.
