  1. I don't believe Boston will be in that position for the simple reason the O's still won't to trade within the division. The Angels on the other hand might.
  2. Why spin Zito off for Tejada? What if Hendry can trade for both without losing Prior or Z? The longer this circus goes on with Tejada (because you know he's going to continue to throw a fit), the more likely it is the O's would be forced to lower their demands...What an offseason that would be! Not enough prospects to do both. I wouldn't (and hope Hendry wouldn't) want to mortgage the future for those 2. You're looking at at least 6-7 prospects going in those deals. But with Williams as one of those being traded and IF Zito would agree to a contract extension before the trade. Wouldld things fall into place?
  3. Wow, you make a good point. Any 3 game series against any of those 3? Teams would worry about where the runs come from. But as you pointed out. Its that blasted HEALTH issue. And I believe that rotation and line-up is as strong if not stronger then the Sox last year.
  4. Thats the only trade that really makes sense to me. Although I would love to have Tejada. Just not at the expense of Prior.
  5. I'm only thinking out loud here. Some of the statements made by the O's makes me think Prior wasn't really the main trade bait by Hendry and using Prior to get a trade talk going? Or is it the O's are worried about Prior's health. Forgive me if some of this has been talked about in other threads. But I don't get in here as much as I'd like to. Something in the back of my head says its another Hendry trick to keep the O's at the table. I have a hard time believing that Hendry would throw Prior's name out without talking to him first. At least I'd hope he would.
  6. All though I don't hold much weight to this rumor. I do like your idea. To keep Prior and get Tejada? The ink couldn't dry quick enough for me to make that deal. Exactly. Now we are talking. But Prior for Tejada at least in my eyes is not a very good move. Value for value its a good trade to me. But trading Prior? I agree. No way its fair. And thats a lot because I'm a fan of his I must admit.
  7. We better be getting Manny AND Tejada then... Manny AND Tejada? World Series here come the Cubbies =P~ Sorry, Manny will cost as many runs as he drives in. NO Thanks!!!!!!!! Manny might cost you 10-20 runs on defense. I'm pretty sure he'd generate a few more than that. I'm also talking injuries and his little fits when he decides not to play. Hey, I realize he has a great bat. I just don't like the idea of that headcase being on this team. Yes, some of it may be false and he may even be getting a bad rap foe something that isn't his fault. He's been asking to get traded out of Boston for 2 years. As soon as a situation came up at Wrigley he'd do the samething.

  10. If the O's did that deal it'd be epic bad. It'd be one of those deals O's fans would talk about in disgust 50 years later. I don't know about that. I have some friends just outside of Baltimore that say after Tejada's coments about wanting a trade. They say let him go and get as many prospects and a major league pitcher or 2. I know its anger talking but, I'm not so sure that a lot of O's fans are ready to see him go.
  11. If I'm not mistaken. Wasn't Bedard injuried for part of the season last year? I believe it was an arm injury though.
  12. And the Cards at 95 wins? Cards Cubs Brewers Astros Reds Pirates
  13. Safe to say the Cubs and the Cards. But the Cards are still better than us. That my dear sir is correct. That is what I'm so ticked about. I don't have a hatred toward the Cards. I've enjoyed watching many games at Busch, as long as they weren't playing the Cubs I even got caught up in the fun and cheered for them. They have been a fun team to watch. But I still am true blue and it irks the crap out of me to see this halfa$$ed approach to fielding a top notch team. People on here have convinced me that Hendry just is not able to get the job done. The few don't out weigh the many.
  14. Agreed, so now the Cubs could pay 2 guys about the same as having 1 very good player. I've defended Hendry in the past. But its getting harder and harder to do so.
  15. DIDO, when healthy he's a very good pitcher. I'd take that chance in a heartbeat.
  16. Yeah but what if Jones would like to win 80 games in Chicago instead of winning 68 in KC? I'm sure he'd like to play for a winner. Someone e-mail Jones and tell him that Z and Prior are out until July. That way he'll sign with KC. Or he'll just be greedy like rest of MLB players, sign with KC and hope for a mid-season trade to a contender.
  17. No. Just wanted to make sure everyone knew I wasn't making a statement, just asking a question. :D Didn't want to get bashed for making a false statement. LOL
  18. XM MLB were talking about the Lofton trade and said something about Sanders also. Did anyone else hear about this?
  19. Guys, I hope your right about Wilkerson. If he is who the Cubs get. Ive looked up his #'s and I'm still not sold on him for right field. Mench either as far as that goes. I Just a bad feeling about him.
  20. I could possibly deal with Wilson or Dellucci of the three you mention. But White is still a big risk injury wise and his arm just isn't good enough for RF. It was bad enough in LF when he was here last. Down deep, I still have a soft spot for CPatt. Weather he's with the Cubs or someone else I hope he can turn it around.
  21. Preston Wilson for one year. You didn't say death wasn't an option... HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!! Death, could we make it an option?
  22. IF and thats a BIG IF the Cubs get Tejada. I'd rather have Kotsay's defense in RF then Juan. Don't know exact #'s. But I believe Kotsay has the better glove and a more consistant bat.
