  1. DING - DING - DING My thoughts exactly. Cameron being traded is the only thing that throws a wrench into this idea.
  2. no way in hell would i do that trade DITO As I said before: "I didn't say it was fair. I just said that's what it would take. Schmidt for Hill, Mitre and Pie. It was reported that the giants were asking for 2 major league ready pitchers and a top position prospect for Schmidt. I think I'm giving Hill and Mitre some credit here. Alou would probably take Dop and Wuertz at this point." And I wouldn't do the trade either. I understand what you were saying. I just don't want to see Alou back here. I don't care what is #'s look like, all I now is that the Cubs overpaid for his services the first time around and would pay TOO much this time in prospects and cash. Giants want a ton cuse daddy don't wanna trade him away. If the Cubs give up Hill it should be for someone who's gonna be in the lineup for years to come. Not someone who's tank is almost empty. Sorry guys, I just think it would be a big, big mistake. IMHO

  4. Give me a couple of months to lighten up. Diets take time from what I hear!!!
  5. To my knowledge, this isn't what they're suggesting anyway. They're just seeing if the Reds hold Dunn out of their lineup... I have to admit it will be interesting to see if he plays tonight!!! If he sits then he's getting traded period. Dunn has killed wood in his career. This is from cbssportsline. http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/gamecenter/preview/MLB_20050720_CHC@CIN OK, guess my thinking of maybe Kearns plays for Dunn tonight to give him a day off is out of the question.

  7. I honestly don't believe the trade will be announced until after the game "IF" it happens at all. Best case is that Dunn leaves town with the Cubs. I just don't see it happening.
  8. Wow, don't think I want to mention what I shot today. 17 over - par 72. ](*,)
  9. I'll take the counter argument. In the past Hendry has unloaded prospects he received from other orgs. to get an MLB player. If he thinks this season can be saved, Murton may be traded for an impact bat. I can't believe that anybody thinks this season can be saved with Baker at the helm. Save this season? I don't think Jesus, Mohammed, Moses, the Reverand Moon, Hare Christna, Vishnu, Zeus, Captain Underpants, The Teen Titans, Joseph Smith, Ra, or ET could save this season. You haven't seen their OBPs... Jesus is pushing .600 this year. Yes, yes he can. Ya know why? Because he knows it's coming. LMAO =D> That's funny I don't care who you are. Wait a minute!! [-X Shouldn't tell his secerts.
  10. Agreed. I'll take Matt Stairs over either of those 2 guys any day of the week and twice on Sunday. I vote NO on all three. Makes no sense to trade for any of these.
  11. I don't see the Blue Jays giving him up. On the other hand. IF that happens? Lookout, because on one in baseball will touch the Cards.
  12. Especially against Drese. For cryin out loud this has gotten way old way too many times against a below average pitcher.
  13. Three words - VERY GOOD MANAGING. I've watched several games and they are out there having fun, working hard and getting the credit they deserve. As far as the Cubs go? They're working hard but don't seem to be having fun. Either they are putting undo pressure on themselves or just can't handle the pressure that is expected of them. I don't lay that much blame on Dusty. Yes, he makes the decisions as to who plays and where they bat. (some of which I question like the rest of you.) But he can't go out and play for them. Although, it wouldn't amaze me that he's threatened to. Most of this is frustration talking. But damn, these guys should be doing better. are the Cards better and deserve to be in 1st? NO DOUBT!!! Should the Cubs be 9 1/2 out? NO WAY!!! I don't care about the injuries. These guys are paid millions. They need to start playing as such.
  14. Sorry, I can't go alone with this. Dempster is doing just fine and I'd rather keep Welly and Leicester. I just don't see Baez as an improvment.
  15. My thinking exactly. Just doesn't make sense. Maybe a couple of minor leaguers (no high ones), and someone like Holly with Rockies paying part Wilson's of his salary. Other wise I'd go else where.
  16. I will still like to see the Cubs throw an obscene amount of money at Mazzone. I don't know that there has been a better value in baseball than Leo over the last 15 years. I'd be willing to start a collection plate at Wrigley if it would help bring him to the Cubs.
  17. Yes, he did pitch for the Phillies (I believe last year) after he left the Braves. Actually the previous 2 years. And I wouls just as soon him stay in Cleveland or anywhere but Chicago. He was slightly above average with the Braves and horrible with Philly. If he comes back to the national league he better go back to Atlanta with the rocking guru of pitching.
