  1. This will be my first day of working at Wrigley Field! I'll probably stop at the McDonald's first and get a mcgriddle and a large coffee, and eat them inside the park just because I can.
  2. Chad is the plural of Chad.
  3. Does Maddux have his number retired by the Braves yet?
  4. Sorry. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_qhnyYmu2l_k/Sbkcbcz9cBI/AAAAAAAAAJw/X26zehmJ8EU/s1600/Nice%2Bseats.jpg

  6. That's weird. Did you call the customer service number?
  7. Guitar Hero tells me I rock. Maybe we should collaborate.
  8. So Brian McCann hit a sacrifice fly to center field to drive in a run, and then Rick Sutcliffe wondered aloud if maybe taking batting practice with Derek Jeter helped McCann get that RBI. Yeah, that's about all of this I can take.
  9. I really don't understand why either of them should have to take a pay cut. Are the leagues losing money?
  10. i really, really hope that you wind up having a bunch of tickets that you can't sell for a profit. Too late ;) I'm going to bring up this thread next year when karma bites you in the ass. That's impossible. Demand will be higher than ever to see the Cubs defending their World Series championship!
  11. Probably. In my experience, the third base side is the first to get shade. Also, to the guy asking about section 438, I sat there for a game last year, and it's really not bad if you don't mind looking left the whole time. You can see pretty much everything.
  12. Then we should invite Ichiro to post in the game threads. Of course we'd have to lift the word filters first.
  13. Does anybody really care who wins in the WBC?
  14. I only got three games this year because I still don't know whether I'll be working at Wrigley or if I'll still have the lame job I have now, but I got good ones. May 31st vs. Dodgers June 16th vs. White Sox July 4th vs. Brewers
  15. Thanks, R-Train. I called and got the same message -- from a human voice. Good luck! Thanks! You, too!
  16. If you just mean opening multiple windows, yes, it still works.
  17. Danonwaveland, I just called, it is a human being on the other end (thank God), she put me on hold for a couple minutes and then said that "they're still reviewing your application and as soon as they give it to us we'll give you a call."
  18. I also interviewed and rec'd the same instructions. I kinda figure that they'll have a "thanks-but-not-this-year" message at the other end of the phone number. Nevertheless, it was definitely cool to interview in the Cubs locker room -- it really is as small as people say! Plus, I got to use the players' pissoir -- my big thrill for the year. \:D/ Were you as inspired by Roast's posting as I was? Yeah, the clubhouse is unbelievably small; I had no idea that's actually where I was until I was sitting there a few minutes, and started looking around a bit, and then when it hit me, I was like, "Holy [expletive] [expletive]!" I probably had the stupidest grin on my face when they called my name. One of my friends also interviewed and also got the same "call if you don't hear by Friday" thing. I think I really did pretty well, though, until the part where they gave me all these different scenarios, and how I would handle them, and then they said they had to go outside to confer.
  19. This is going to be tricky for me. I had an interview with the Cubs last week, and if I get the job I want to work all the games, but I might not know if I have it or not until Friday morning, since they gave me a number and told me to call it if I haven't heard anything by Friday. If I don't get the job, then I'm going to be buying tickets online all day. But if they tell me they don't know yet, or they want me to come back for a second interview, then I'm pretty much screwed in getting tickets. Why did they have to do this to me?
  20. I think they released those pretty late last year, too. Right around the time spring training games were starting up, IIRC.
  21. How could that be a memory? Or positive?
  22. Yeah, but it's stupid that a game starting at noon is blacked out because of another game starting at 2:55.
  23. Just got this forwarded to me from one of my friends. The games are more spread out than last year, but it seems like there are even less against quality opponents. Only one White Sox game, one Cardinal game, and no Opening Day, so I think I'll pass. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ticketing/leadoff_plan.jsp?partnerId=ed-2178273-68765256&source=ed-2178273-68765256
  24. Seriously? I didn't get an e-mail... :( You'd be better off buying tickets on the secondary market then getting that plan. Is it extremely front-loaded like last year? I remember a lot of April and May games against the Reds and Padres.
