  1. The Bulls are something like 5-10 against the Clippers since 2002-03. The Bulls always seems to struggle with LA's other team, and these struggles I can remember dating back to the MJ/Pippen days. For some reason, the Bulls have struggled with the Clippers.
  2. Alright, I give up. Is this supposed to mean Jerome James and John Salmons or do you think his name is James Salmons? #-o As you can tell earlier on this page and last page there was a debate about Lebron James, so I definately had James on the mind. TY for the catch.
  3. No, the point is that you said the appeal of NYC is overrated, but you've never been there. That's a dumb thing to say. And we return to our regularly schedule program. Bulls/Clippers, Morrow replacing Rose in the Rook/Sopho, and the supposed Magic/Bulls rumor.
  4. I would go and slap the president if that happen.. <>
  5. Bulls are taking on the Clippers tonight. Not to mention, supposed over on Realgm, this is a rumor or proposal between the Magic and the Bulls that involves at the minimum of John Salmons going to Orlando for JJ Redick and Anthony Johnson.
  6. Ok, Billy Madison.
  7. I don't watch college basketball till March anyways. But I don't really like the idea of basically invited everybody from D1 to play in what should be an elite tournament. 64 teams is fine, I prefer 32, but 64 is something I've learned to live with.
  8. Holy crap. You just said you've never been there. How can you possible have an opinion about this? I said that I might be misguided, but I don't need to be there to understand that I don't ever want to go to NY. Again, is that misguided....sure, but ignorant? Nah. If I said NY was a POS city that is rule by rats infested people, then I would be ignorant. Again, from other people experience (I have had friends go to NY) watching shows like New Year's Eve, etc, etc, I simply have choosen I do not want to go to NY (mainly because of finances), or see the appeal of the city. This topic shouldn't be about if I am ignorant or misguided, it should be about the Chicago Bulls, so can we get back on topic. I see Anthony Morrow is replacing Derrick Rose in the Rookie/Sophomore game.
  9. Have you ever been to NYC? No, and I don't ever plan too. How ignorant then. Ignorant? No. Misguided? Maybe. People severely overrate New York and it'a atmosphere. Besides, I didn't based NY, that would be ignorant, all I said was I didn't see the appeal.
  10. Have you ever been to NYC? No, and I don't ever plan too.
  11. I think almost anyone would rather "control" New York City than control the state of Ohio. I don't see the appeal of NY, I really don't. I still believe the Knicks will have to land another star, ie Bosh, Stats, Wade, before they can convince LBJ to come to NY. So I believe LBJ will either stay in Cleveland (most likely) or spurned the Knicks and go for the Nets.
  12.
  13. I agree with this statement. I lived in NY when the Knicks were decent, when the Yankees were winning championships, when the Giants won, and there is no place like it. Chicago probably has better and more loyal fans, but New York is New York. No egomaniac like LeBron would pass up the opportunity to rule NY if he could. Sorry Cleveland. And sorry Chicago. So my guess is that there's a good chance LeBron ends up in NY. He loves the bright lights. He's going to love hanging with JayZ and getting high fives from Spike Lee courtside. He's even a Yankee fan. The only question is whether he can win rings in NY. Because if he doesn't even win a championship, his legacy is tainted forever. While I do agree, somewhat, that if LBJ wins in NY he would control the city, but if he wins in a smaller market like Cleveland, he would control the whole state. In NY he would never control the state. So I think this point is overstated. LBJ isn't going to sign with NY blindly. They will still have to show LBJ that they have the potential to get better and the potential to win. IMO they will have to land another top player before they can convince LBJ they are commited to winning. And this is the vicious cycle. No player will sign with NY unless LBJ signes, and nod LBJ will not signed unless he sees the team becoming a contender. In fact, it would not surprise me if NY gets burned like Chicago did in 2000. If LBJ ends up in the NY area, it will be the Nets, for which Jay Z is a part owner. I just don't see LBJ in NY.
  14. The Yankees control that town, no matter what LBJ does. Nonetheless, I do not see LBJ going to NY.
  15. That's arguably the appeal for someone like LeBron. If he can go there and get that team winning and get son meone like Wade to show up, boom, that's bigger than he could ever get on any of the other teams out there. Despite the Knicks' crappiness, NYC is still NYC and the Knicks rule that town when they're good. The problem with this theory is that Lebron doesn't need NY to get endorsements, nor does he want to go to a team like the Knicks and it be the Lebron and four stiffs. Let's face facts, they have a bunch of stiffs and maybe one or two players with interesting potential. But for that potential, there is not a player on the team that is good enough to make Lebron go, "Oh, boy, I want to play with him and we can win together." The Bulls could at least say they have Rose, Noah, and Deng, or NJ with Harris, and Lopez. As for Wade, that combo will happen either in Cleveland (via SnT)or Miami, not NY. If Lebron goes to NY, then Wade will either stay in Miami (most likely) or go to Chicago (don't count it out). Either way, I agree with Andy and think the NY angle is way overplayed.
  16. Yeah but NY is NY. There are numerous non basketball variables that would draw LeBron there over Chicago. Winning trumps over any and all "non basketball variables" that NY can provide. Lebron wants to win, first and foremost, and NY has shown no improvement and if they can't showed the improvement or show Lebron that they can win then NY becomes no better destination the Memphis. And quite frankly NY has become an overrated destination for stars. NY might be able to land a Chris Bosh or Amar'e Stoudemire, but right now I really doubt they can land Lebron James. Lebron wants to win and he wants to play with players who can help him win, and NY cannot offer either. First, New York has shown improvement since they bottomed out at the end of the Isiah Thomas era. They've got a good coach and a proven front office man (although they whiffed in the last draft) and most importantly there's no more Thomas poisoning the well. And I'm not sure on their cap situation but I think they've got some big deals coming off the books in a couple years. Secondly, anywhere Lebron is going to be a winner--even New Jersey. You put him on the Knicks and they're a 50+ win team easily and a move or two away from being a title contender. I agree he'd be closer to winning a championship in Chicago, Miami, Cleveland, or even the Rockets or Clippers but there's no real reason he can't win wherever. Any team he goes to is 90% of the way there to being a contender. Now I do think New Jersey might be so awful that they're out of the running but I wouldn't say that for the Knicks. And I certainly wouldn't say that the Knicks are SO BAD that it totally cancels out how attractive playing there might be to him. It's a ridiculous thing to say but if winning were so important he'd just sign for the MLE with the Lakers or something. Clearly there are other factors at play. NY isn't the "premier" place for stars as it used to be. NY needs Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, etc, etc more then those players need NY. Players do not need NY to sell themselves. So why do people still hold NY that high in terms of endorsements, I do not know. I still believe if NY cannot show they are better now or have the potential to be better, then James isn't going to waste his career is a piss poor city like New York. I think the Bulls have a better chance at landing LBJ (not saying they will) because they have Rose and Noah, and NY does not have any player (most likely going to have to let Lee go to even have a shot at landing LBJ) that can match either player. Personally, I think NY will be 4th on his (LBJ) pecking order behind Cleveland, Chicago, and New Jersey (in no particular order).
  17. Just like "Dewey defeats Truman."

  19. Stronger than what? Millar shouldn't see Wrigley. If he wants to contribute to the Chicago Cubs, maybe he should purchase season tickets and watch the Cubs from the seats.
  20. Peter Vecsey, imo, has as much credibility as Sam Smith. So definately take whatever Vecsey say with a grain of salt.
  21. Word from other players who were visiting Miami this weekend is that Shon is all Crimson. Unless something is made public I have to take that with a grain of salt. All I know is Coleman is down to Bama .v. Burn and it is a toss up as to who will land him.
  22. Oh good......we can now look forward to a Dempster.v. Millar prank war.
  23. To be fair, the playoffs are the Sharks kryptonite. They haven't made it past the 2nd rd since 2003-04. So when they are on the big stage they tend to fold.
  24. Don't be surprise if Ambles doesn't commit to any team on NSD. He's seems to be the type of character who would draw out his recruitment to satisfy his go. Yeah, he's already strongly hinted he'll likely wait til after NSD to make a decision. Says he has a couple more visits to take (one to USC, I believe). He's fantastically talented, but has been a bit of a diva. Utimately I think Ambles will end up at USC (its funny that Carroll pull Ambles scholly offer, and Lane extended it back) because he seems to fit the whole Hollywood scene. But who knows what he will do.
