  1. 60 catches 790 yards with 6 Tds. 57 catches 757 yards with 3 Tds. 45 catches 527 yards with 5 Tds. Will you stop overrating Percy Harvin. I would offer a WR for Harvin, not because I am comfortable with the current WR, it is because Harvin is not an upgrade over what the Bears currently have. Now Sidney Rice on the other hand........Not to mention in addition to Rice, they have Petersen, Berrian, and Shiancoe as offensive weapons, so what you saw with Harvin this year, could very well be the peak of what he does for the Vikings. And you are telling us his worth more then 2 solid WRs? I don't know man, I think you might be stretching Harvin's value. Not to mention the Bears have a couple of guys who can do on KR/PR that Harvin can do. Simply put.....Harvin is not worth as much as you think he is, Sponge. Again not because I am comfortable with the current players, oh no I am not, it is because you are overrating Harvin.
  2. To be honest, I don't think Martz has ever had a TE weapon like Olsen before, hence his reluntance to focus on TE. Then when you consider that not one WR on the Bears is considered a "lock" to put up the same numbers as last yr, means Martz will prolly have to use all options in the offense. Hester wants to be a punt return again. Devin A. look good the last two weeks, but is no guarantee. Earl Bennett and Johnny Knox had their moments but are far from reliable. So again with all the ??? the offense has, I think Martz will have to find a way to use Olsen.
  3. Who cares if he doesn't play defense. Besides isn't Ovy a +41? Even if he is not considered a strong defense, his offense is so good that it doesn't even matter he doesn't play defense.
  4. I don't think Angelo will trade away a talented young player just because of a potential stop-gap offensive coordinator. Agreed. You don't take weapons away from a QB like Cutler you add weapons. Only way the Bears trade Olsen is if you can get a 2nd rd pick for Olsen. Trading away a TE like Olsen would be considered a mistake. And besides the Bears already have a blocking TE on the roster in Desmond Clark. So there is no need to trade Olsen.
  5. Versteeg, Barker, Niemi. Done. Upgrade to Sharp if they insist. :rotfl: Kyle, stop being silly. Same contract/same player this year. Thomas IS NOT WORTH your prosposal. Niemi is the Hawks future at goalie, imo. I rather trade Corey Crawford or Joe Fallon instead of Niemi. Barker and Versteeg are expandable and for that contract, I want draft pick or two, otherwise acquiring a guy like Thomas who is not an upgrade isn't worth it. And to include Sharp makes your ideal very laughable. Stats wise, Huet=Thomas.
  6. The NFL must hate the Bears.
  7. I wouldn't trust Realgm as a source for rumors. It may happen (don't like the deal, unless the Bulls get a pick in the deal) but I wouldn't hold my breathe.
  8. NOLA beat Warner, Favre, and Manning. I have to wonder....when the last time a team beat three future HOFer QBs on route to a Super Bowl?
  9. Beyond awful. Simms to me sounds an awfully like Tim McCarver.
  10. NSBB will run a pool to figure out who gets to hunt you down and punch you in the face if Taylor Swift is the halftime entertainment next year. Ha. I don't really want to see her, but AMERICA does. I think. I like Swift, get her to do the National Anthem, but not for the Halftime Show. Now I could see Aerosmith, Leo Sayer type for next year. Now that I want it, but I could see it.
  11. where'd you see this? didnt someone talk about it a few pages ago? it mightve just been speculation. im drunk so i also may have just made it up. ignore me and all future posts. There have been some buzzed that the Hawks are "nervous" about Huet in goal. While a deal for a goalie is highly unlikely---mainly because of Huets' contract---it wouldn't surprise me if the Hawks acquired a guy like Roloson.
  12. You complain about the lack of a #1 WR on the Bears, but how do you propose the Bears acquire such player?
  13. Get Rose some help, GARPAX. I swear the god if their plan fails this summer, then GARPAX should be fired and someone capable of finding Rose help should be hired.
  14. The Four Horsemen of the Blown Save. Dave Smith wants his horse back Hard to want something from six feet under.
  15. If the Devils are better then Pittsburgh then it is very minute. One point separate the two teams, Penquins score 34 more goals then NJ. and the Devils have given 36 less goals then Pitt. So on paper I would say the teams are actually even. As for the Hawks, I think one can say the Hawks/Devils/Penquins cannot differentiate from each other, despite the Hawks having more points then Pitts and NJ. I agree.
  16. Looks like the Devils just got him. Great move for them. http://sports.espn.go.com/nhl/news/story?id=4888109&campaign=rss&source=NHLHeadlines Maybe, maybe not. But with the rumors of him leaving the NHL for the KHL in the offseason (I doubt it, but who knows) to give up two of your best prospects plus two high draft picks for an obviously rental, is an awfully high price to pay. Not to mention this still only makes the Devils the third best team in the East behind Pittsburgh and Washington. Good move for the Devils, but an awfully expensive move.
  17. Good. As well as Noah has played this first half, it was obviously with his foot injury he needed a break.
  18. Couple of Hawks news as I come across: *The Hawks are supposed out of the Ilya Kovalchuk sweepstakes. Latest rumor has the Flyers jumping in with supposedly an offer of Briere and Van Riemsdyk plus a pick. Don't know how true that is, tho. *For those who think the Hawks are ok with their current goaltending (including yours truly), we are wrong. Apparently the Hawks are "nervous" about Huet as their goalie for the playoffs and are said to be searching for a vet backup. Roloson's name has came up. Only way this happens is if one of the $3 million dollar players is moved. *A couple of days agao Sassone drop a potential McKee rumor, and apparently he didn't pull this one out of his butt like so many other Chicago beat writers have done over the years. Yes, the Hawks are searching for a vet defensemen.
  19. Interesting point, but for all the crap that Reinsdorf has to listen to he has said in the past that he would pay the luxury tax if it went to building a contender. In fact here is the exact quote: Which leads me to believe that if GarPax convinces Reinsdorf that Wade/James (moreso then Bosh/Boozer/Johnson, etc) is "the guy who put the Bulls over the top" then Reinsdorf will authorize their pursuit. So, I don't think it is about the Bulls being cheap, it's about who to spend the money on, instead how much. Remember Reinsdorf has been burn by the likes of Brad Miller, Ron Mercer, Eddie Robinson, and Ben Wallace, so its understandable that he is cautious with his money.
  20. Oh good....the only time I will get to see the Cubs is when they play the Braves. Oh swell. :glare:
  21. Kurt Warner also spoke highly of Mike Martz. Troy Aikman, and Jon Kitna has came out in support of Martz. Really the only guy I've seen or read that has try to discredit Martz has been Charley Armey, the Rams former GM. I'm not over thrilled with the move, but it'e becoming clear that having a mentally tough coach like Martz might be benefically for Cutler.
  22. This team hitting a wall doesn't mean they are "not good."
  23. http://www.hockeysfuture.com/prospects/joseph_fallon
  24. The only time the Bulls lost to the Clippers in the entire 90's was in December 94, without Jordan, what are you talking about? Just leave RedFlash alone and let him talk about Anthony Morrow replacing Derrick Rose in the rookie-soph game. You acting like an ass because........oh yeah, you don't need a reason to be an ass.
