  1. Strike two looking, huh? http://i.imgur.com/8gsKlCy.png
  2. Jose Altuve hit another home run. His 162 game pace is as a 40-60 guy.

  4. While I picked Byung-Ho Park as my wild card, I was skeptical of his power output. You were right. Presently on pace for 40 dongs. That could very easily change once the league adjusts, but that's his power output at the moment. Glad I made the pick that I made. Meanwhile I have 3 players from Group D who, after one month of play, have zero home runs. Good job, Logan. Drop: Travis d'Arnaud Add: Victor Martinez This is my last transaction of the first half
  5. Marte has been pretty great for 3 years running now. Polanco I hadn't noticed. He's got a 12:16 K:BB ratio right now. That's nuts considering last year he ended with a ratio of 121:55. He's also the 6th best player by fWAR standards. but it's cool, Dex is still #1.
  6. Damn. If I'm not mistaken, a win today would've been a franchise record for most wins in April. Stupid rain.
  7. I should've taken David up on those tickets, the game is blacked out for me here in Alabama.
  8. She is a very attractive woman, but she kinda looks like the cardboard cutout of a typical baseball player's girlfriend/wife.

  10. That's literally not true.
  11. I don't mind owning authentic jerseys of players who have moved on. They represent the guy you cheered for on the team when he was there. I would buy an Arrieta jersey in a heartbeat and have no regrets even if he leaves. He's easily the best pitcher on the Cubs I've had the pleasure of watching since Greg Maddux in the 80's/90's. If he continues to be this good for the duration of the year, and especially if they win the WS, an Arrieta jersey will be representative of a legendary time period in Cubs history. But if that's not your cup of tea, if you're gonna buy authentic gear I'd probably go in the order of Rizzo-Russell-Bryant if you're concerned about players still being on the team. I'd avoid authentic Schwarber gear at all costs.
  12. I love when people point to his lack of innings in Baltimore and his jump in Chicago as suspicious, despite not taking into account that when you're not a good pitcher, you don't pitch deep into ballgames and don't accrue large inning totals. I'm sure there are tons of pitchers who are capable of throwing 200+ innings year in and year out, but they don't because they're not good enough to make it past the 5th or 6th inning, which is kinda what Jake was in Baltimore.
  13. The Yankees always want to ban things that hurt their team. I remember when Chien-Ming Wan jacked up his ankle on a freak injury rounding 3rd in an interleague game and Steinbrenner went on a rampage demanding they adopt the DH in the NL.
  14. I love this. The actual video is full of the dumbest logic ever.
  15. Spelling it was always difficult until I just noticed his last 4 letters were Zija, which sounds like a Wu-Tang member... so I just memorized what came before it, Samard. Then Zija. Samardzija. It's the collection of odd consonants that gets you, but if you break it up into something really stupid like an unknown member of Wu-Tang it's a lot easier
  16. I have a friend who is a White Sox fan. He posted this image on Facebook one week after the season started. One week. http://i.imgur.com/uMaxb4L.jpg The irony is outstanding
  17. The Top 5 WAR leaders in the AL consist of Manny Machado, Jose Altuve, Mike Trout, and Josh Donaldson... the 5th person? Colby Rasmus. He's destroying the league right now. .302/.449/.698/1.147 6 HR 16 RBI 15 BB 17 K Never would've seen that coming.
  18. Isn't Smith out for the year? If it was full year I completely missed that, I was under the impression it was ASB at latest. Ahh, he's rehabbing it so he can come back earlier: http://host.madison.com/wsj/sports/baseball/professional/brewers-will-smith-opts-to-rehab-knee-infielders-yadiel-rivera/article_b3528380-d781-5562-8743-3130b3582059.html I'd rather not take a chance on a guy who rehabbed a torn ligament in his knee instead of fixing it with surgery.
  19. Isn't Smith out for the year?
  20. Next stop: Perfect game for Perfect Jake
  21. Overjoyed doesn't even begin to explain what this game does to me right now
