  1. The only ones that do well go to St Louis
  2. 69mph curve balls all day son
  3. Just got through the first episode. Very upset you didn't mention who won the first ever Home Run Derby. I still wear my undersized Aramis Ramirez Cubs jersey with pride :D Edit: Nevermind I guess the prize was a Jeremy Hermida autographed bat (which I still have!) The Aramis jersey must have been a different contest Otherwise great stuff, great podcasting voice especially I won a Felix Pie autographed bat! Very much enjoying this podcast! Great work!
  4. With universal DH I would not be opposed to a Schwarber reunion
  5. I know how he feels, Matty. 10 years in the big leagues and I still can't hit a slider.
  6. FML. Season ticket money is due tomorrow and I'm already stretching myself thin. Fiancee and I got approved for a new apartment we're moving into in April and they're demanding rent ASAP for the first month. So we got rent where we're at now, Rent at place we're not, and Cubs tickets. So long Cubs tickets. Anyone here dying to be a half-season STH temporarily? I can transfer ownership temporarily for the 2022 season. If you want to jump the line, let me know.
  7. I know people like to horsefeathers on crypto stuff, but this NFT program Rizzo is slinging on social media is donating a portion of the proceeds raised from purchases of those NFT's towards Rizzo's cancer foundation and a couple of other charitable organizations, for what it's worth.
  8. On the bright side, maybe there was an explanation for why he was so terrible last year. Probably because he’s just not good. Yeah, his first couple of years were nice and all, and his little baby contract is still a decent value for someone like him when he's healthy, but I don't know that anyone should expect him to be putting up like 20 dingers and an .800 OPS or anything. If he can get back to being a 1.5-2 win player, that's all he needs to be.
  9. Well, I'm officially a half-season ticket holder, fulfilling a lifelong dream of lining awful billionaires pockets with my hard earned, scarce money, to support a team lined up for years of failure.
  10. They are adding half-season ticket plans for newcomers and put together this new guide: https://cubs.fanportal-mlb.com/2022/waitlist Looks like you only get four location options with the half-season guide but the savings aren't as much because they charge more on a per-ticket basis in that plan. Upper Box Reserved full season is like $2300 but for half the games it's $1900
  11. I've been told I'm finally getting the call for season tickets this offseason
  12. Foolish Baseball just did a whole episode on him that talks about both sides. And both sides are right, which makes him a very peculiar case for and against his inclusion in the HOF, though ultimately he determined he's one of the best catchers of all-time, so they think he's a HOF'er.
  13. Chicago will never be a White Sox town. Ever. And I don't say that out of malice towards the Sox, it's just the truth. They could win 10 titles in a row and it would still be a Cubs town.
  14. Management: "We're calling up Effross." David Ross:
  15. I never hated the White Sox, just specific people.
  16. I'm so disappointed in his hesitance to getting the vaccine, and now I'm worried, because of his history, that he might be in serious danger. While he was dumb for not getting it, he wasn't in everyone's face about it, and still encouraged others to get it, unlike guys like Heyward and Arrieta and Sogard who are straight up antagonists about it. I don't want anything bad to happen to Rizzo, no one does, but if he suffers serious consequences, he'll have no one to blame except himself.
  17. I would wait to see where they land. I would consider a Rizzo for sure, he's my favorite player. Maybe a Baez just because he's awesome. I weirdly don't have any attachment to Bryant. He could resign with the cubs and I would buy a non cubs Rizzo jersey over a cubs Bryant jersey.
  18. One if the greatest all-time "what if" stories for sure. Saw some stuff on him on mlb network, he was absurd before his ailment cut his career short.
  19. [tweet] [/tweet]

  21. Yeah, I don't hate it. Any of it really.
  22. I mean he does earn like the equivalent of one and a half bottles of that per minute
