  1. Today was super easy, and I definitely don't cheat. Like at all, really.
  2. I've only ever seen general baseball coverage on YouTube. Probably because you reduce your market if you focus on one team. What type of video analysis are you referring to? A Foolish Baseball style or a Jomboy style? I'm a videographer/photographer in chicago, so my curiosity is piqued.
  3. I really did not want Swanson because I thought he'd be overpaid for his services and the other SS options were far more enticing (I really wanted Turner). It's only been a week so who knows what will happen, but I've always been perfectly happy eating crow on any of my horrible acquisition opinions
  4. Anxiously awaiting the return of the General Discussion forum so I can go into the movie thread to say "Tetris was a lot of fun"
  5. Here's a gif that's both a response to you and a representation of how our owners operate:
  6. They're scumbags who, after getting their world series title, completely turned into hardcore conservative "Woe is me I'm just a poor billionaire we can't spend any money" pricks who say they took on biblical losses during COVID and then turn around and make an attempt to buy one of the most valuable sport franchises on the planet while acting like they don't have money to spend on one of the largest market money making teams on Earth. horsefeathers the Ricketts. That's the vibe And yes they've passed, or made poor offers, for players they absolutely should've signed all in the name of either not having enough money or having spent too much already.
  7. This was also started back when forums were also referred to as Bulletin Boards so it kind of has a double meaning, IMO.
  8. If I'm not mistaken, Clevenger was really close friends with Bauer, too.
  9. Wasn't this Corbin Burnes' issue, too? Maybe developing a cutter and limiting his hittable fastball could put him on a more advantageous path?
  10. Hang with em, meat
  11. Dansby would be a disaster. Heyward 2.0. And I base this on nothing except gut feeling. Give me Turner all day.
  12. That is very Dusty "Gunning for his own numbers" lol oh no our trade acquisition is out performing his already elite level of offensive performance for his position in the middle of a pennant race because he's not gonna be here next year, what a piece of horsefeathers.
  13. I mean, I jumped nearly 38,000 spots in two years. And when I was offered last year I believe, for the first time ever, they offered half-season ticket packages but even those, for the cheapest seats I could find, was nearly $4,000 for two tickets. Honestly, 5% is horsefeathering nothing. That's half the tax. Whooptie horsefeathering doo.
  14. Be curious to see what kind of pace they can keep up with Gonsolin, Kershaw and Buehler all on the shelf and insane, probably unsustainable performances from 30-something journeymen like Heaney and Tyler Anderson. Of course, they just got Dustin May back, but I don’t know who their 5th starter is right now and I have no clue what their starting rotation will look like come playoff time. The funny thing is the 5th starter you're forgetting about is Julio Urias who has been arguably the best pitcher in baseball since the ASB.
  15. I mean, of course it was the money, but I can't for the life of me understand why Javy would agree to play in Comerica. That park kills all of the upside he provides with the bat.
  16. Not that it makes much sense, but could the prospects brought back from a contreras trade be enough to supplement what the cubs already have to offer up for soto?
  17. SAMPSON SIMPSON I STICK. BY. MY STORY! I'M FROM JAMAICA!
  18. There's a popular photo and video YouTuber who recently shot at the cubs game using insane camera gear and documented the process. Thought it would be good to share here:
  19. Almora's hype was around his contact skills and gold glove defense. All the scouting reports, IIRC, said his defense was MLB-caliber ready straight out of the draft. And his ability to hit for contact was some of the best in the minors. He just never translated that skill to hits
  20. Byron Buxton has more home runs (17) than singles (14) and only has 39 total hits. 43.5% of his hits have been home runs.
  21. I like him. He has the youthful arrogance you see in guys like Javy, Tatis, et al. that this sport desperately needs. Hope he continues to succeed.
  22. Locke St. John sounds like the villainous rich kid in an 80s teen comedy.
  23. I had to look it up. Like... I get it, but wtf. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/33631323/mlb-announces-home-run-derby-x-global-tour-featuring-former-players
  24. Unless you're Juan Pierre who never had power.
