    #-o :shock: Wow... The strangest part of all these rumors is that the package got worse and worse as time wore on. Typically, and especially once other players are no longer available due to free agent signings or trades that have already happened, teams get a little more spendy to ensure they get what they want. Why on Earth would the Yankees turn down that deal? Because Melky Cabrera is more valuable than God. Didn't you get the memo?

    I'm assuming this has a little to do with the Milton Bradley situation last season. Having reasonable background checks is one thing, but sending officials to ask neighbors if they beat their wives or belong to the KKK is dickronkulous

    nah, Piniella has shown he has become somewhat cognicent(sp?) of watching young arms. I'm not saying this in reference to Piniella's use of pitchers, I'm saying it in reference to Bedard's 3 out of 4 full major league seasons where he's spent time on the DL. Not to mention the fact that he's only been great one of those years. Last year. When he was great for the 2nd half of the season. And he got injured. I just think Bedard shouldn't be considered so spectacular when he was only amazing for 60IP last year, and has a history of injury problems. For the record, I'd love to have him on the Cubs, but he's going to cost way too much, and I don't think he should because I feel he's overhyped. And because of that, I DON'T want him on the Cubs. If he didn't cost as much, I'd be all for it. Not that this will ever happen anyways, I don't believe a word of it

    QFT. Look at all the others incriminated. What did most of them do? Keep quiet, admit it, or give a stern "This is a lie" quote and be done with it. Clemens is going through way more than he needs to be doing to defend his so-called innocence. Press conferences, televised speeches, and now a stat report? The more he fights it the more guilty he looks. And from what I've heard he's now bringing in other names to the argument. In that report doesn't he make comparisons of his stats to Randy Johnson and Curt Schilling during his alleged use period? He's trying to smear their names in the mud with his own. At least that's what I've heard. Roger Clemens has very quickly become the most annoying POS in baseball over the span of 1-2 years, and it all started with the "is he or isn't he" BS. Now it's this crap. What a tool.

    Why is Byrd even being considered? Career year in the best hitters park in the American League even though it was not that impressive of a career year? Well, he sure must be primed for a Pujolsian year in 2008, let's get him, and give up someone waaaaaaay better for him, along with a pitcher who also has more value than him.

    That rumor is based on a fan mailbag question about an Angel;s fan asking if there were rumblings about Greene. The rest has no validation behind it whatsoever.
