  1. That's kind of a pointless acquisition if done. If Freel goes down, Hopper can fill in. If he's not adequate enough, Bruce should get a shot. Lofton only delays Bruce, which I suppose is good for the rest of the league
  2. This sounds like a tradition, so if the older posters have first dibs, I understand, but if it's first come first serve I'd like a shot at it. If not, it's all gravy
  3. A quick search and I found that decent seats are gonna run $60+ (at least for the 17th of June) http://www.stubhub.com/tampa-bay-rays-tickets/?event_id=494227 http://www.ticketliquidator.com/tix/Tickets.aspx?evtid=723270 But if you want upper deck seats or outfield seats you can get them cheaper, between $30-$60 roughly. I might actually be there for that.
  4. [urinationjoke]. Tee hee. Anyways. I hope one of these supposed moves isn't Marlon Byrd. That would suck
  5. 1) I'm eagerly awaiting the Rays stadium 2) Is the Minnesota stadium going to have a retractable roof? I can't imagine it being very conventional having an open roofed stadium come April/September when it may be below freezing/snowing
  6. I subscribe to the website for $5 a month. You get all the projections plus a lot more exclusive content than you'll find in the book, although the book is a great purchase either way. If all you're interested in are the projections, then the book is probably the way to go
  7. I expect Scarlett Johansson to come knocking on my door looking for her next boyfriend by the end of the week, but if history is any indicator there are some things in life that just aren't as probable as our expectations
  8. That's what I think. It sounds like there's a population of Modzilla victims @ Desipio. Well then I suppose that would explain it then
  9. I never even knew about Desipio. What's with their beef against NSBB? And why do they make fun of posters for the most trivial of things (like Tim's last name being Stuart)?
  10. The A's wanted two closers with questionable health on their roster
  11. http://darvish-yu.jp/index.html I don't understand it. Why have english links and then use japanese with all the content? Strange. Almost as strange as him selling handbags. And his own fragrance, apparently.
  12. That just makes me happy. Clemens spends God knows how much money trying to prove he never took roids with TV interviews, press releases, and all this crap. McNamee's like "Here's some DNA". Ouch.
  13. They're also the favorite in my heart. Cue "Endless Love"
  14. Word up. Thanks for the interesting info
  15. For some reason I really want to watch Die Hard on a TV at a Planet Hollywood right now
  16. Well, he's only 16, I would assume that if he's as good as he's touted, he wouldn't be ready to go until he were, at the earliest, 20 years old. And a lot can happen in 4 years. Peralta could fall off the face of the earth, get traded, leave to free agency, etc.
  17. I've been maintaining this from the beginning about Michael Vick. If he ran a [expletive]-fighting ring, nobody would have cared. When chickens have out lived their usefulness and let out into the wild they're still just chickens. When dogs do, they kill people. Yes, but I don't think Vick let any of his dogs out into the wild. He killed the ones that were not of any use to him. When you kill a chicken, you get a delicious dinner! Who is to say dogs don't taste delicious? Haven't you ever eaten at a Chinese buffet? [/cheapshot]
  18. I used to, but not anymore. Weirdo! In all seriousness though, I think you should change the title of this thread to "Reds Hot For Blanton". It's for the best.
  19. I usually try to avoid thinking about possibly getting Jay Payton. I won't be able to sleep at night if I do
  20. I think now is a good time to post one of the most enjoyable moments in sports history... http://youtube.com/watch?v=dKRQyS1gIJE
  21. Related to players, but not to the post question.... how fast did pitchers typically pitch back in the dead ball era? Any video footage of that stuff makes it seem like it was slow pitch softball, and I imagine that is definitely not the case
  22. If anyone makes a big stink out of this, they better be vegetarian. Oh no, Pedro was at a [expletive] fight! Those poor poor birds that are born and raised so we can eat them! I'm calling PETA, they need to do a Dominican mission trip
  23. Count me as one of the many who doesn't know what EqA means, but I do know that after reading that second sentence I immediately laughed and thought back to when Jesse was initially called out on metrics and how they are useful for predicting a players value, and since EqA is the initial metric at hand, I found it funny that he wrote this back on page 4... Ha! This thread is wicked
  24. Haven't you heard Meph? Everyone on the current St. Louis team is in the Top 5 echelon of greatest position players of all time. This is the word of our Lord. Praise be to Perry
