  1. All the Braves fans on my Facebook feed are super pissed about Bryce Harper wiping his foot over the Braves' A behind home plate. (reference) It's [expletive] dirt.
  2. Yeah, I spoke too soon. Two hours later it was a monsoon This is still accurate, though
  3. I never realized wearing black socks with sneakers was a thing people didn't like.
  4. The Phil's weren't going to let him go as a cash dump. Amaro would get killed. The Cubs were always going to have to pay a premium in prospects if they wanted him. Get Lester in the offseason. We don't know that. Part of the package might have been the Phillies picking up some of the salary, which might be why the Phillies would have been asking for a premium prospect. Well then that is not good news for payroll limitations. My point was/is that the Phillies would not do a salary dump and get nothing in return. Yes, we know, but you started that debate yourself. That wasn't the point of the original post. He even said that probably wasn't ever likely. It's the fact that Theo was willing to put the Cubs in a position where if Amaro did something wacky and just gave him and his entire salary to the Cubs, then the Cubs were prepared for that, which meant they are ready to take on larger salaries. He never said it was going to happen, he was using it as an example to show the Cubs are just warming up and they are going to soon be ready to make big moves. The point wasn't "We're getting him for free" it was "The Cubs are nearly ready to go all in"
  5. I'll never understand how a guy like Dombrowski can make such savvy and bold trades and FA signings but seem to not have any clue how to treat the developmental stage of his farm system when they have a highly touted prospect on their hands.
  6. This time of year it rains nearly the same time every day. It's like clockwork. And it's hot as [expletive]. It's fine right now. If the game got delayed because of poor field conditions before it's because they were late getting the tarp on. As long as they get the tarp on the field, they'll play ball. It's nice and sunny out right now. Also that tarp smells like the butthole of a rotten catfish
  7. gotta keep that hologram sticker on it, yo Had a friend in college who was one of those guys. I pulled the sticker off his Florida Gators hat as a goof. I've never seen someone look so sad over something that didn't involve a loved one dying. He spent the next half hour sitting by himself looking at his hat as if he was questioning what to do with the rest of his life.
  8. Type Boog Powell into Baseball Reference and you get OG Boog Powell. If the MiLB dude goes by Boog Powell, B-R needs to make it to where there's two selections to choose from after the search. They do not, and the article did not mention the name Herschel, and I didn't want to do extra digging because it was late and I was drunk and didn't give a [expletive].

  10. Boog Powell? Is there a new Boog Powell? Cause the only one I see retired in the 70's
  11. FWIW he has had known shoulder issues in the past, which many believe has led to his inefficiency, but it's never gotten to the point where he's been knocked out for an extended period of time
  12. Oh [expletive] you blackout rules. WHY THE [expletive] AM I BLACKED OUT OF A TAMPA GAME BEING PLAYED IN CHICAGO?!?!?!
  13. I imagine the crowd will be packed today, and in the event Javy hits a home run I can't wait to hear the crowd's reaction to it
  14. Hell no. Maybe they'll trade us Stanton in the offseason for Pierce Johnson and Jeimer Candelario!
  15. That's all it took?!?! http://i.imgur.com/lVPMTyt.gif
  16. If you hover over these, on the right side you can get the link to the gif version... http://giant.gfycat.com/AggressiveShimmeringBushsqueaker.gif http://i.imgur.com/1IteUxT.gif
  17. Much like the actual Cubs, Javier Baez is making my fantasy team a lot more fun to keep up with considering I've lost like 7 of my last 8 games.
  18. I imagine everyone will be looking at the Cubs like this soon: http://i.imgur.com/kQUMWp3.gif
  19. Anyone care to do a compilation of the best?
  20. The other day I heard him say "Stropie" when referring to Strop. That one is the most ridiculous of all. He treats his players like he treats a puppy
  21. I always kinda thought we did that ourselves with any new player because of how ridiculous it was when Quade did it. Either way, it's never meant to be taken seriously, so I personally don't care.
  22. YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG, YOU [expletive] BUZZKILL. buzzkill? I'm pumped he's hitting well lately. THIS IS FUN Cassie? Stop You know I'm doing that to mock Rick Renteria right? I thought that Cassie nonsense started with Quade
  23. Baez HR: http://m.mlb.com/video/v35162383/chccol-baez-connects-for-a-solo-homer-to-left/?query=baez
