Based on what I saw from a very young Chile in South-Africa, they could be scary good in four years.

The game plan was too negative; they were fouling way too much and too eagerly. If anything, the red card came surprisingly late. The best team (also the most positive team) won.

Food for thought: of all the players in the WC final, no less than 17 were formed as teenagers at the academies of Ajax (9) and Barcelona (8). Ajax: Sneijder, Van der Vaart, Huntelaar, Elia, Heitinga, De Jong, Stekelenburg, Van der Wiel and Babel Barca: Valdés, Piqué, Puyol, Busquets, Xavi, Iniesta, Pedro and Fabregas.

Klejstan was the only Anderlecht player (other than the goalkeeper) to play the full 90 minutes in a warm-up game in Austria against Rumanian champions Cluj. That is a good sign, imho.

Either would have a great draw for a Cup final that hasn't been seen in recent memory. Either someone's winning it for the first time, or two hated rivals go at it. FWIW, the Dutch desperately want to win it against Germany. 8-)

Me too, because Spain were my favourites from the start, although I admit the psychology of a Germany-Holland match up would be truly epic (the Orange army would go nuts)

I was exposed to Orange Madness at a rock festival yesterday; the most hilarious moment of the day was when celebrations broke out all over the grounds after the final score was flashed on the info screens. Paramore was on stage and clearly didn't know what had happened or why all these people dressed in orange were celebrating like mad. And that was just the Dutch contingent that had stayed for the music. A vast Orange Army had temporarily left the festival grounds to go watch the game in the pubs in Leuven. Their return later in the day didn't go unnoticed. 8-) And I'm not even going to try to estimate the beer consumption in Leuven yesterday afternoon. :wink:
