  1. LOVE THIS. Home runs are rally killers. Duh.
  2. Theriot could have grounded into a double play, too. Maybe the bunt gave the Cubs a run.
  3. It's not good for a point guard, no. But considering that Gordon's primary duty is to score, it's fine. He's about an average passer for a shooting guard. That doesn't jive with your implication that he shot the ball every single time he touched it.
  4. You sure about that? Bulls' passing ratings: Rose: 9.1 Hinrich: 6.8 Gordon 4.8 Deng: 3.2 Noah: 2.9 Salmons: 2.9 Ty. Thomas: 0.7
  5. Also, I think people are underestimating Gordon's health and how valuable that is. In his five years, he's averaged 79.6 games played a year. If you're going to pay a player $11 million a year in hopes that he's on the floor every night, Gordon is a pretty good bet.
  6. Almost every single thing you said is a vague generalization about Ben Gordon that isn't backed up by any evidence. For example, you said he can't create his own shot, but he also doesn't know how to come off screens. Yet 85 percent of his shots were jumpers last season and he efficiently averaged 21 ppg. 21 points on 16 shots a game. That's very good. This is dumb. This is like saying, "I'd rather keep Ryan Theriot than Aramis Ramirez." Why would you "rather they keep" a worse basketball player? No. Last summer, Gordon was mulling over an offer from the Bulls and they gave him a deadline to accept it (why they gave him a deadline, I have no idea). Shortly after their arbitrary deadline had passed, Gordon came back to accept the offer and Reinsdorf yanked it off the table.
  7. That doesn't make any sense. You hate wasted possessions, but like John Salmons?
  8. I'm surprised Joe Girardi isn't tops on the list, given his reputation.
  9. The Pierre trade, by a huge margin.
  10. I see no reason Stephen Curry couldn't start for a contending team.
  11. I can't help but think this is completely inappropriate... I think he means "Hole-in-one ball."
  12. Why trade Kevin Gregg for a minor-leaguer whose ceiling is lower than Gregg's current ability?
  13. I'm not sure it's possible to overvalue Mark DeRosa and what he meant to the Cubs. He was the heart, fire, soul, passion, integrity and compass of this team.
  14. I just downed an entire bottle of Codeine!
  15. Honestly, this is my worst moment ever as a Cubs fan. Worse than 2003, worse than 1984. Worse than the last two playoff sweeps. Seeing one of the greatest Cubs in the history of the franchise suit up for the Cardinals is more than I can handle. DeRo was everything a Cubs player should be, and it was devastating enough when he was traded to the Indians? But playing for the Cardinals? I can't reconcile this at all. I have two DeRosa jerseys in my closet that I've been hanging onto in hopes that Hendry could bring him back this season, but now what am I supposed to do with them? I certainly can't bear to look at them anymore. This is absolutely crushing. How can Hendry allow this to happen? This is like Ernie Banks, Mr. Cub, wearing a Cardinal uniform. DeRosa was the modern-day Mr. Cub. I'm literally sick to my stomach, just thinking about this. Best of luck to you with the Cardianls, DeRo, and I can't wait until the Cubs retire your number someday. Rest assured, I will be there.
  16. And while Blair is "short" in terms of height, he has really long arms. His standing reach is higher than Blake Griffin's, so it's not accurate to say he's undersized. People need to get over using height alone as a measurement.
  17. Kevin Gregg in the last month: 2.77 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, 10/3 K/BB ratio He's been very good since he started slow in April. He doesn't SUCK.
  18. I bet fewer than 20 percent the standing, applauding fans know that DeRosa went to Penn. And I bet some of those people don't know that Penn is an Ivy League school.
  19. Indeed they did. DeRosa got a standing ovation as a pinch hitter, in a tie game, in the 8th inning on Saturday. Anyone who took part in that should be barred from Wrigley for life. That was embarrassing. If by embarrassing you mean absolutely awesome, than I completely agree with you. Seriously, why is that embarrassing? I think it's outstanding. It was a really, really critical situation late in a ballgame where DeRosa could have beaten us. And yet, Cubs fans rose together and gave a standing ovation to an opposing player. Who played for the Cubs for two seasons. Who had already received a standing ovation the day before. It's dumb. And like Jersey said, DeRosa was a nice player. That's it. He wasn't some Cubs legend. I fail to grasp how DeRosa has become one of the most popular Cubs of the last 20 years.

  22. think the nationals would suck it up and take him back in exchange for dukes? \:D/ Why do we want Elijah Dukes?
