  1. all things considered, it feels like Illinois should be up more than 9. Can't complain as long as they don't come out flat in the 2nd half though
  2. another bad TO by Abrams after almost throwing away the inbounds a minute earlier
  3. Abrams can't hit anything... and then throws it away on a 5 on 3 break
  4. and a 2nd early on Mbakwe...
  5. 2nd foul on Hollins is big
  6. I feel like Houston may opt to think long-term rebuilding and go with Frazier if he continues to play like he has since they took a HS player last year with Correa and figure maybe they can bring the two along and have two big building blocks in their lineup for years to come rather than take a guy like Appel who could be ready in less than 2 years and waste some good, cheap years on a really bad team.
  7. I'm glad they found it necessary to let people know where Chase Daniel might be heading...
  8. Saw that, was definitely surprised. I guess he figures he's been banged up enough already and it wasn't going to get much easier as he got older and decided to take his millions and go while he's still in relatively good health. Can't blame the guy.
  9. and game over because Smith gets to crash into Paul and get the rebound edit: not that they were going to come back anyway, but I think that put the end to it for sure
  10. Glad they called the intentional there... Ravenel may not have been trying to be dirty, but he made no attempt at playing the ball
  11. I wonder if now that the streak is over, they might rest some guys with more borderline injuries. You obviously don't want to punt any games, but if you can rest Hossa or someone who is banged up but could still play, would you do it against a team like Columbus?
  12. got a good chuckle out of that... especially this line:
  13. Agreed... Garza makes way too many stupid mistakes to be paid as well as he is while being probably a below average nfl center.
  14. While the Charlotte pick could become valuable, there is also the chance they draft Ben McLemore or someone with an upcoming lottery pick and that pick becomes a stud... I agree that they should go ahead and use it to get an established player if one becomes available
  15. love seeing Javy that high... also noticed they have Wil Myers listed as OF/3B? is that right or a mis-label?
  16. If the Chiefs franchise Bowe again, that means that Branden Albert would be available in FA. Would the Bears, if they re-sign Melton for something like 7 mil. per year and restructure a couple of deals, have the room to make a competitive offer for him? I assume that Albert, being only 6 months older than Long and iirc without the injury history, would be a preferable option...
  17. terrible penalty taken by Oduya
  18. Think that puts him in for CR and Mexico?
  19. I am not a fan of these new Nike jerseys like the ones Duke wore and Texas is wearing today...
  20. Read the Jordan article... and while there is a little bit of "back in my day" to it, I do agree that the level of competition that MJ faced when he was putting up his most insane numbers (37 ppg in 86-87 and then 35 ppg on 53% shooting in 87-88 and 32/8/8/3 steals with 54% shooting in 88-89) was quite a bit higher than it is now, and his teams weren't exactly stacked with Pippen and Horace Grant being rookies in 87-88.
  21. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2013/02/15/illini-given-no-5-seed-in-mock-tournament-selection/ Not that it's overly important since it's media members and a mock selection, but it's nice to see that people do feel that Illinois is pretty securely in at this point. I think if they take care of business at home the rest of the way and beat NW and Iowa on the road (definitely not gimmes) and win a game or two in the BTT we could see them at a 5 or 6 seed, which was unfathomable 2 weeks ago.
  22. Everyone keeps talking about him being a lock for the number 1 pick... I know that he's a force defensively, but wouldn't most teams at least take a good hard look at Ben McLemore if he declares?
  23. I can see the Bulls rationalizing it as "We probably aren't beating the Heat this year if Rose has only been playing for a month and a half before we play them, so let's be extra careful with the future of our franchise and come back stronger next year."
  24. I don't think they're necessarily advocating being ok with him as your left tackle though...
  25. Anthony Adams' Sammy-Inspired page https://pinterest.com/spiceadams/sammy-sosa-inspired-pics/ unbelievable work by him... Love the tie btw: got this from Brett over at BN http://www.bleachernation.com/2013/02/08/that-curt-schilling-thing-definitely-wasnt-theo-or-jed-and-other-bullets/
