  1. Honestly, who expected anything different? He's the one of that former top prospect bunch I just don't care for. Just a bad matchup. Soler comes in cold to face a guy who throws off speed in the dirt. Bad bad bad
  2. considering they have the best pitcher on the planet throwing a perfect game ... i doubt that They know it in their hearts
  3. You know how when the Cubs are clinging to a one-run lead and everyone's sphincters clench, waiting for the other shoe to fall? That's what Dodgers fans are feeling right now as they wait for us to dong them into oblvion
  4. Which is the bad strategy, watching strikes go by or attacking early? You don't get to say both. Exactly. Can't work the count against a guy who is throwing nothing but strikes
  5. Hendricks cares not for Adrian Gonzalez's shenanigans
  6. This ump just loves throwing new baseballs to the pitcher
  7. That wasn't a bad pitch. Low in the zone, he just went down and got it
  8. I'm not worried. He's gonna square one of these up soon
  9. That was a pretty athletic play from such an oafish looking ginger
  10. Contreras has already bought Hendricks 2 strikes with his framing.
  11. Kyle Hendricks will feed on the blood of the nonbelievers
  12. Line drives clog the bases
  13. Wood - 3.2 IP, 1 ER, 4K Montgomery - 5.2 IP, 2 ER, 3K Not awful, not worth freaking out about. Having 3 lefty relievers is awesome, especially against this Dodger lineup
  14. Looks like he's hedging on runs being tough to come by, so he's choosing super-prime defense over slight upgrade in offense
  15. I just actually LOL'd
  16. I was making fun of people saying Russell etc. should be benched.
  17. Oh right but you said this was an obvious joke. Ha ha. Tbh I didn't think the game thread was that bad last night. The last 2 games vs SF were much worse with people outright calling the Cubs chokers and losers. There was none of that yesterday just people questioning Joe's managerial decisions. Yes, I was joking. Believe it or not, I don't care. But it was gross last night and I can't imagine watching every game always expecting the worst outcome.
  18. Hey whiners, I got real sick of all the loser talk in the game thread last night. Was that the first game you watched this year? Did this game not win 103 games? I know we all have baggage from last year, 2008, 2003, whatever. THIS TEAM IS NOT THOSE TEAMS. Back in 2003, most of this team were eating Gogurt and watching Rugrats. They don't give a horsefeathers about those teams. They don't blame umps for their failures. They don't sweat a blown save. They don't have to clean sand out of their cracks when Ethier gets a windblown solo homer. If Javier Baez knew your names, he would shame you on Twitter So stop it, please. This season has been way too much fun for everyone to turn into crybabies over every blown strike call. We should know better than to second-guess a manager who has won 200 games in two seasons. So sack up and #BELiEVEN this team without being a bunch of p*ssies about it.
