I didn't like the pick. Don't think Trubisky is going to be good. But, giving up a 3rd, a 4th, and a future 3rd? That's a small price to pay to get the assurance you got YOUR guy. Those picks can(and mostly were) recouped. SF's guy was Thomas. You could've let SF pick at #2 and still picked Trubisky. Who else was going to trade up to #2 for him? If the Browns wanted him, they would've taken him at #1. The Jets didn't even take a QB. HOU and KC would have had to give up a ton more than the Bears did to move up that many spots. If SF is saying "we have people on the line who want to move up to our spot" you say, "cool, if another team trades up for Trubisky, we're taking your guy (Thomas) at #3" and call their bluff
