  1. Very on brand post Sorry, I don’t keep spreadsheets on this horsefeathers like you nerds
  2. Surely Donald Trump will strongly stand against his buddy River Kraft, what with his SOTU addresses strong anti-human trafficking statements
  3. The Aramis Ramirez, extra-inning game winner against Milwaukee back in.....2008?
  4. I hope it's Tom Brady, David Ortiz, Paul Pierce and Bobby Orr.
  5. The Padres signing both Machado and Harper and still finishing in last place would just be the best
  6. Even if the non-elite guys are on shorter deals? Harper has averaged around 5 fWAR over the past 3 seasons Keuchel/Kimbrel/Marwin have combined to average around 7.5 fWAR over the past 3 season. And you wouldn't have any on the hook for a 10 year commitment. Instead of signing Greg Maddux the Cubs used the money on Jose Guzman, Randy Myers, Dan Plesac, Candy Maldonado, and Willie Wilson. That didn't turn out too hot. Those guys are totally equivalent to Keuchel and Kimbrel, good call I'm not saying I would sign the 3 over the 1, just throwing it out there for discussion.
  7. The answer is always the one elite guy when these questions come up Even if the non-elite guys are on shorter deals? Harper has averaged around 5 fWAR over the past 3 seasons Keuchel/Kimbrel/Marwin have combined to average around 7.5 fWAR over the past 3 season. And you wouldn't have any on the hook for a 10 year commitment.
  8. If you're Philly, are you better off putting that money into Harper, or investing in some combo of Keuchel/Kimbrel/Gonzalez/??? instead
  9. I'm not going to go dig it up, but last season I made a post showing his swings in Atlanta, St. Louis and Chicago. The rolling ankle was barely a thing in Atlanta, and has gotten worse and worse as he has aged (and as his numbers have plummeted).
  10. Still rolling his front ankle. I don't know why no one fixes this....seems like rolling your front foot would create all sorts of problems in terms of stability and consistency
  11. AND COLLUSION! go away Because I'm totally serious.
  12. My post from this morning has really aged well
  13. Well apply that to Machado, then. If the rumors are true and that the biggest offers are from teams like the Padres and White Sox, it's not surprise that he's like "ehhhhhhhh" about signing
  14. Is it dumb to think that if this was purely about money, that Bryce would have signed with someone by now? Is there anything to the idea that the teams that are offering the contract he wants aren’t exciting him in terms of a ten year commitment?
  15. The Cubs are underdogs again, which I hope results in them going nuts and winning 110 games
  16. I meant Carlos Gonzalez, not Marwin, but your point still stands.
  17. I know the prevailing thought has been that the rest of the free agents have been waiting on Harper/Machado to set the market, but at this point, I'm sorta shocked that Kuechel, Gonzalez, et al are still sitting there unsigned. When does the dam break?
  18. PTR: "Nah"
  19. Bryce should sign with the Reds and hit 80 HR per year in that ballpark
  20. MLB Network also had Yadier Molina as their #2 catcher in all of baseball, so let's not get too wrapped up in their hot takes
  21. Whichever one we trade to the Cardinals And by "in the field", I assume you mean crashing a car into barn after shotgunning three bottles of Jager
  22. I"m just happy that there's a league where Maurice Clarret can finally live his dream.
  23. Holy crap, can't believe Duke won. I was watching that game and Duke was chucking bricks all over, and I turned it off when it was like 51-31
  24. We'll see. I just think it's funny how fast the draft experts change their opinions. They do it in the same draft (remember how 6'3", 225lb Mitch Trubisky was a prototypical QB build while 6'3", 225lb LaMar Jackson was too sleight and should change to WR?) what draft expert said lamar jackson should change to wr Bill Pollian (his stature as a draft expert is up for debate) https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/ex-nfl-gm-lamar-jackson-too-short-and-slight-should-switch-to-wr-for-2018-nfl-draft/
