  1. Could you imagine the vitriol that would be hurled at Garland the past 7 years while he struggled along at .500? Cubs fans would have run him out of town long before he gained All Star status. I don't know, they've put up with 7 years of Kerry Wood being little more than a .500 pitcher rather patiently. Wrigely Field fans have earned a reputation for being many things, vitriolic is not one of them. Achoholic, perhaps. Yes, but Wood wasn't losing 12 games a year and posting ERA's in the 5's

  3. No, Derwood's correct. Someone show otis the picture. Thank you. I stand by my gross mispelling (sp?) of the word. It adds to the flavor of the insult.
  4. Though Hill has done nothing to merit the suggestion that he will be as insignificant as Bobby Hill or Brendan Harris so far. He threw a lot of pitches tonight, but gave up just 2 ER in 5 IP. You couldn't ask for much more from a spot starter.
  5. If Tampa Bay says you aren't good enough, it's time to open a used car business. Yikes.
  6. Derwood's daily hint: When you have the bases loaded with less than 2 outs, you score some runs you morans!
  7. IMHO, Mitre=Jeremi Gonzalez And can you truly express whether Hill has proven anything or not with a grand total of 5 2/3 IP in his career?
  8. Hopefully the Cubs can pay the Astros back this year with a 3 or 4 game sweep that sends them into a freefall late and surges the Cubbies into the wildcard. I was at one of those fateful games last year; the series where Houston seemed on its last legs, and a series win by the Cubs likely would have buried them. But the Astros beat the snot out of the Cubs and started their unbelievable surge towards teh playoffs. yeah, that game sucked.
  9. mmmmmmmmmm.......pie and bacon....... Oh sorry, what was this thread about?
  10. I'm not sure about the ticket thing, but I'm pretty sure that you have to leave your stroller (no matter the size) at the gate, where you can pick it up again on the way out. (nothing fits under the Wrigley field seats)
  11. Here's your word for the day, Cubbies: MOMENTUM. Look it up sucktards!
  12. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH N E I F I P E R E Z ! ! ! ! ! ! !
  13. This is the second game in a row I'll miss. Yesterday it was my sister's birthday, today I'm working the Tony Hawk Boom Boom HuckJam show at the Bryce Jordan Center. Sometimes, $$$ > Cubs unfortunately.
  14. I know the Cubs record when they SUCK! It's 48-48
  15. Walker. I thought you were cool. What happened to you man?
  16. you'd feel real good right now with a 2-1 lead the way Z is pitching, but alas no. Nice, Z is getting the assists left and right tonight!
  17. We sent Corey down for grounding into double plays? No, we sent Corey down for swinging for the fences when he isn't a power hitter We are NOT getting into another "What kind of player is Corey Patterson?" debate. Good, that wasn't my intent. I was just venting my frustration at Walker for his inability to drive in runs when it looked like he was trying to hit 3 run homers instead of sac flies.

  19. T-Walk hits a few homers in Cinci and he suddenly thinks he's Ken Griffey Jr. Didn't we send down Corey for this?
  20. She's not a fan? If I were going on a date tonight he would know to make sure there's a television around. Perhaps a resturant with a sportsbar/entertainment vibe like Dave & Buster's or ESPN Zone is in order? Just a thought. I can tell you from experience that watching the game on the TV instead of paying attention to the lady friend is a bad move.
  21. Just call me Derwood the Greek. Minus the racism.
  22. probably the wrong forum for this...
