    Wow, that weather map looks ugly. When are they going to invent a force-field dome that can instantly surround a ballpark, protecting it from rain while invisible to the eye? I want my science fiction darnit!

    Gerut has not passed up Murton on the ph chart. You're going overboard now. If the first pinch-hitter up is against a lefty pitcher, do you really think Gerut would get the call? They both have to stand in line behind Macias! :x I don't know why some people get worked up when Macias is the first off of the bench in the middle innings of a one-run game, or a blowout. That's when I want a weak hitter hitting. Thank God he wasn't available in the ninth inning to hit! Scary but true: Macias is 5th in the league with 35 pinch at-bats despite a .229/.250/.314/.564 line off the bench. Those pinch hitting situations also include a whopping 1 run scored and 1 RBI. Thanks Dusty, this guy is SOOO clutch!

    Could you imagine the vitriol that would be hurled at Garland the past 7 years while he struggled along at .500? Cubs fans would have run him out of town long before he gained All Star status. I don't know, they've put up with 7 years of Kerry Wood being little more than a .500 pitcher rather patiently. Wrigely Field fans have earned a reputation for being many things, vitriolic is not one of them. Achoholic, perhaps. Yes, but Wood wasn't losing 12 games a year and posting ERA's in the 5's

    Though Hill has done nothing to merit the suggestion that he will be as insignificant as Bobby Hill or Brendan Harris so far. He threw a lot of pitches tonight, but gave up just 2 ER in 5 IP. You couldn't ask for much more from a spot starter.

    Hopefully the Cubs can pay the Astros back this year with a 3 or 4 game sweep that sends them into a freefall late and surges the Cubbies into the wildcard. I was at one of those fateful games last year; the series where Houston seemed on its last legs, and a series win by the Cubs likely would have buried them. But the Astros beat the snot out of the Cubs and started their unbelievable surge towards teh playoffs. yeah, that game sucked.

    I'm not sure about the ticket thing, but I'm pretty sure that you have to leave your stroller (no matter the size) at the gate, where you can pick it up again on the way out. (nothing fits under the Wrigley field seats)

No, we sent Corey down for swinging for the fences when he isn't a power hitter We are NOT getting into another "What kind of player is Corey Patterson?" debate. Good, that wasn't my intent. I was just venting my frustration at Walker for his inability to drive in runs when it looked like he was trying to hit 3 run homers instead of sac flies.
