  1. sweet, and opening day is just a week away! oh wait, you mean it's not? you mean they opened an unfinished park? I see....
  2. considering what the average major leaguer makes compared to the average american worker, I would say that they are all overpaid
  3. quick, someone check....did someone start an injury thread during the game?
  4. well done also turn off fair trades while we're at it
  5. apparently you have all lapsed into some sort of coma and dreamt of the cubs winning since the intraweb says the game is still in the bottom of the 7th. The internet has never lied to me!
  6. yahoo is stuck in the bottom of the 7th as well. Dusty's managing has broken the internet
  7. sweet, gamecast is stuck in the bottom ofthe 7th! (stupid, bad, lousy....)
  8. 2007 is totally going to be a year later than 2006
  9. Add Peralta to that list, and Felipe Lopez was very close. Peralta, Young, Lopez and Tejada combined don't make what Jeter makes. You can disagree if you wish, but Jeter is my choice for most overpaid player in baseball. Jeter is overpaid but he's still a valuable player, unlike Beltre, who has turned into a useless pile of puke. If you needed a big hit at the end of the game, who else on the Yankees would you want batting other than Jeter? What about in the league, with the exception of David Ortiz? Jeter ALWAYS comes through for his team. Career regular season: 314/.386/.461/.847 Career playoffs: .306/.376/.462/.838 3 year splits: Overall: .307/.377/.458/.835 Bases empty: .304/.370/.474/.844 w/ RISP: .288/.380/.405/.785 Close and Late: .249/.352/.392/.744 Stop ruining the common misconceptions of the baseball populace with facts! p.s. A-Rod's stats show that he is actually very good in the postseason despite being labeled as a playoff choker in recent years.
  10. I liked the Marlins paying Hampton to beat their ass with the Braves.
  11. Why, why why did I pick Adrian Beltre? Did his legs fall off this winter and nobody told me? Is he out there with a red tipped cane and a wheelchair? Could he suck more?
  12. [-X [-X [-X Cubs winning trumps fantasy stats at all times
  13. my first guess was lance berkman
  14. wrong. "Hanging around" won't cut it. The Cubs need to take the lead and keep it and not worry about whether or not they come back
  15. Probably not, but the team has to take the mental approach that they can. They should be looking at the team and saying "this is what we've got, let's go get them." If they take that approach, they should do well. If they sit around and say "well if only we can hang in there, maybe 4 or 5 games back until Wood and Prior return" they are doomed to fail. That is a poor attitude that doesn't ask players to strive for their best, plus it puts undue pressure on Wood and Prior to be the heroes when they return. They should just play to win, and when Wood, Prior and/or Miller return, treat it like Hendry just landed them a sweet arm in a trade.
  16. as long as no one gets hurt...

What a spectacularly bad trade that was for the Knicks. They got Curry, they still suck, they are like $1 jabillion over the cap, and the Bulls own two consecutive first rounders. Isaia Thomas is a Moran
  18. Who's Mark Buehrle?
  19. my guess is that Marshall would go down as they would rather he continue to get starts than waste away in the pen as a loogy
  20. Would it be available in the four-finger variety?
  21. This was tough. I'm 6'3" and 165 lbs soaking wet. I put CF, but I guess a pitcher would work too. If this was football I'd be a WR without a doubt.
  22. 29 is right for me. I know it's early, but I believe I made some mistakes in my choices: Fielder instead of Thome :x Adrian Beltre ](*,) Chipper Jones #-o Frank Thomas
  23. I, on the other hand, hate west coast games, especially when it's 3 straight night games that start at 10pm eastern. I'm lucky to catch 3 innings before I have to go to sleep.
  24. Bulls certainly look confident. Nocioni's emergence is huge. Hinrich, Gordon, Deng, Nocioni is a solid foundation to build this team on. If they can grab a quality big man in the off season, this team will be mean.
  25. No, they were on national TV against the Jordan-lead Wizards and got absolutely humilated.
