  1. No, it's not the Disney Board, but if Tim and the moderators have set up a specific set of language guidelines then it is your duty as a registered member of the board to follow them (or else suffer the consequences). I do wonder where the line is drawn, however. There are clearly words that are "rated R", words you wouldn't hear on broadcast TV and most wouldn't be comfortable having their kids read or hear. But there are some gray area words. I also think there is the difference between replacing one letter in a curse word with a * and using a string of ******. But I've been here long enough to respect the wishes of the mods and if they think the language is a problem then it's a problem.
  2. paging Fred Hornkhol....
  3. history shows that kerry will likely throw a lot of pitches per inning so 5 strong is all i can hope for. with a-ram hurt our vision of an all-second baseman lineup nears reality.
  4. someone remind me what the definition on a "replacement player" is again please
  5. call me when it reaches 8
  6. strained lower back. Sweet! Now we can have THREE second basemen in the infield at once!
  7. seems if you right=click on ESPN's gamecast and select "Play" it will fast forward you up to real time again
  8. god, why does espn's gamecast freeze up on me EVERY time I try using it?
  9. 200 pitch no-hitter! Then his arm will fall off
  10. In before the lock! Twice in one day! viewtopic.php?t=31793
  11. I guess I've been spoiled with my minor league stadium experiences. The few I've been to have all been nice. The Schamburg Flyers, Altoona Curve, and then (soon) this one. I have no doubt that many are dumps. Looks liek they're doing this one right.
  12. does this refer to my saying rectum?
  13. I think Freddie Bynum is as good as he'll ever be. I concede this point. Perhaps I should have specified everyone not named Freddie, Neifi or Hank
  14. wow, this thread got pretty colorful in the time I was away  Can we just agree that virtually no one on the team is playing to their potential right now and that they all need to get their collective heads out of their collective rectums or the season will be over before June 1st?
  15. Updated standings: 2006 National League Standings (as of 5/16/06) Team W L PCT GB ============= == == ==== === Chicago Cubs 16 22 .421 -
  16. As long as you aren't saying the inverse is true, then fine. - You can't hate the Sox as much as JR unless you are as deeply dedicated as him - OK - You're not as deeply dedicated a Cubs fan as JR unless you share his level of hatred for the Sox - Not true
  17. can we please refrain from calling this woman a "fan". Fans don't assault people. She's a thug
  18. I'll go with the easy answer: Alou We agree. And Jones can't come close to then # of check swing, accidental grounders to short that Alou hit. That said, Jones is not nearly as productive as Alou was. In summary, Jones is a younger, left-handed version of Alou who is not as good. But it's not all his fault. I still put more blame on Pierre and Ramirez. The leadoff and cleanup hitters should be more productive than the #6/#7 hitter is in any lineup.
  19. Seriously? The first was a slider at his porch. The second made him skip the rope to his shin. Two others were elbow high. what I meant was that all the pitches were aimed at him, not the strike zone.
  20. wow, EVERY pitch was at his shoulder: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-H-xaYLLFJg&search=springer%20bonds
  21. not Bush/Cheney because, unfortunately, they know EXACTLY what they're doing
  22. to answer someone's question from 2734 pages back about naming a player who got doubled off of 2nd as many time as Jacque.....does Moises Alou ring a bell? Jones has a ways to go to usurp the title of "Worst Cubs Baserunner in Recent History" from Alou
