    To confirm the Towers/Maddux thing, I heard Towers on the Jim Rome show. It was hilarious. Jim asks if Towers had any hesitancy about Barrett's character and clubhouse incidents and he says "I went to Maddux and asked him and Greg said 'what are you waiting for? Get him in here!'" To which I said, out loud, "right, because you loved him so much before that you insisted he never catch you."

    Nay. Thanks. What's the speculation then? The Barrett+EPatt for Bowen+Linebrink deal from the 1st page? no, Barrett for Bowne and Kyler Burke (Low-A OF on Fort Wayne). Cash is moving, but it's unclear who is getting it

    Im pretty much in this camp right here with Jersey. As it stands right now, the Cubs are not any better than they were with Barrett. The offense is still the weakness on this team. If they make another trade for a bat, that might make this trade look better. Defense isn't the problem for this team right now, its the offense. if it's a statistical wash but has removed drama/tension from the clubhouse, then it did it's job.
