Yeah, Byrnes, Young and Reynolds (and Jackson to a lesser extent) have been adamant about defending themselves against Pythag. It's kind of funny how big a deal something like that has become in the mainstream media. I think the only 2 other teams to make the playoffs with a minus in RS/RA were the 84 Royals and Padres a couple of years ago. Those teams won 84 and 83 games respectively. This years Diamondbacks are kind of a oddity. A first in baseball history if you must. Winning 90 and making the playoffs with a losing Pythag. I think that is why the mainstream media is picking up on it. I will say that if "knowing how to win" was such a valuable skill, how come more teams havent done it in history. Also if "knowing how to win" was such a skill how come the 84 Royals and 05 Padres got eliminated from the playoffs rather quickly. I heard on Mike and Mike that the 87 Twins were the only one to have ever won a playoff game. The others were all swept and they said the others but I don't remember who they were. yes, the D-Backs are the 5th team to make the playoffs with a negative run differential, and only the 87 Twins (who won it all) have even won one postseason game -

i won't be working during pretty much every game. i didn't see Game 6 or Game 7 at all in 2003 (or Game 1 for that matter)

I think I pretty much found the perfect women. She's obsessed with the Cubs too and has no problem with watching the games with me. She loves going to Wrigley, and basically said if I wanted to we could spend the money to get tickets to all the playoff games if we can't get them on cubs.com. but doesn't she have that one, um, "flaw" that you've mentioned before? she's a one position woman, if that's what you're talking about, but she lets me do things that are illegal in some states though, so that makes up for it. enough about girlfriends though. i can't wait for this game to start. went down to wrigley and bought a Z t-shirt and a DeRosa t-shirt. Go Cubs!!! okay, maybe it wasn't you. someone recently ranted about the fact that their girlfriend wouldn't, uh, how should I put this, wouldn't "Lewinsky" his "Clinton" Nope. No problems here with that. Must be thinking of someone else. maybe it was Butters....

Is this your way of dealing with possible disappointment? Because out of all the matchups, this one doesn't scare me. If we get past Arizona and have to play Phillies...now they scare me. I think it's his way of dealing with the stupidity that is the ARod hate in NY come playoff time. correct. i want the Yankees to get killed, but it to be 0% A-Rod's fault. then, when the media somehow still lames him, he'll opt out and sign with the cubs -
