  1. this reminds me of the fallacy that the 2003 Cubs offense was better when we traded for Lofton, when the stats show that pretty much nothing changed with his arrival
  2. i went 12 for 16, second best to 13 for 16 a few weeks back. i'm bad at this
  3. Kosuke Fokudome is hotter than Kim Kardashian, but neither are as hot as Geovany Soto
  4. We've asked people not to do this anymore. ever, or just in this thread?
  5. Cherry Pumpkin Strawberry-Rhubarb Banana Cream (though that's more of a summer thing)
  6. one thing is clear, whatever he does in right field will be cold and efficient, unlike the fiery, emotional play in left
  7. I never said the Cowboys aren't a good team. I think you're a little over-sensitive when it comes to the Cowboys. The Patriots, however, are a better team -- and they've already proven it on the field this year. That's a simple fact. Does it mean there's absolutely no chance whatsoever for the Cowboys? No. But the chance is very, very small. As for having as much a chance as the Bears -- we all saw what happened to the Bears with their chance. I agree there's still plenty of football to be played though. Who knows? Maybe someone pulls off the miracle and the Pats never even get there. You might be suprised to learn I already have the Cowboys penciled into the Super Bowl. I'm far from a person who thinks they aren't good. They did struggle this weekend against a vastly inferior team though. Not sure why, but they did. i actually give the Cowboys a better chance, if only because the NFC playoffs will be a cakewalk compared to the AFC. The Cowboys set up well to run to the Super Bowl as the #1 seeds, whereas the Patriots could be upset by any of the Jaguars, Colts or Steelers.
  8. i love that one commercial with Quinn where he says something like "sorry guys, I'm busy on Sundays". ha ha, doing what, wearing a ball cap and holding a clipboard? that said, i'd take him on the Bears over Grossman/Griese
  9. well since the Red Sox ARE the new Yankees, i think the fans inherit the new Evil Empire status as well.
  10. i went with Krivsky. i originally was going to pick bowden, but he's actually managed to collect some decent offense on that team. now if only they had any pitching at all
  11. how did Seattle do with Ichiro, Sasaki and Hasegawa in 2003? *looks it up* hot damn!

  15. who knew Todd Collins was still around, and yet he beat the Bears
  16. how much does it suck to have games on at 10am on the west coast? guys must hate going to church out there
  17. not shocked at the DePaul loss....mediocre game travelling to the #3 team in the country didn't exactly add up to victory
  18. here's hoping they get Boston Gagne and not Texas Gagne
  19. the "stupid" is implied when you just say "pirates"
  20. cuban could finance snuff films starring my friends and i'd still be cool with his buying the cubs pretty much.
  21. $45 for bleacher tickets? I swear I bought bleacher tix for $20 in 2003 or 2004 (Prior pitching against the Marlins).
  22. let's sign Matt Clement and Antonio Alfonseca and trade him for Willis :-"
