    No, you can't think ahead to game 5. You have to concentrate on one game and one game only. You will figure out to do for game 5 when you get to game 5. Thinking ahead already potentially screwed us once this series. well since they're all elimination games, why not throw Z on 2 days rest in Game 3? It makes as much sense as pitching him Game 4. I understood the idea of pitching him Game 4 if we were up 2-1 and it could clinch the series at home. At this point, we'd be going back to Arizona regardless of who pitches (assuming we get it to Game 5). Who would you rather have going in Game 5, Z on full rest or Lilly on short rest?

    i'm less annoyed at them swinging at pitches in the dirt with 2 strikes than I am at them watching hanging meatballs go by without swinging. DeRosa saw the exact same pitch get called a strike three times in his first at bat. What was he waiting for, a written invitation to swing?

    Dick Mountain will bring us to the promised land. Mike and Mike brought up an interesting point this morning: Since the Cubs have to win 3 straight now anyways, would it be better to let Z pitch Game 5 against Webb rather than pitch on 3 days rest in Game 4? In other words, you have to assume you're getting to Game 5 if you think you can win the series, so wouldn't you want your best pitcher in that game? At this point, all three games are elimination games, so shouldn't Lou make his pitching matchups work to his best advantage?

    Chip does a good job of "filling the air"...he can talk naturally and not suffer from dead air (a la Hawk)

    yeah... i think the one play he was referring to was when quarless "dropped" the pass near the end zone in the 4th quarter, and he didn't really bring in the pass cleanly, but the Illinois LB also made a great play. Apparently your quarterback pissing the ball away four times in the game isn't the problem, it's one dropped pass that wasn't even totally the receiver's fault. well, JoePa can back Morelli all year.....back him right to a wonderful Emerald Bowl berth against East Carolina daryl clark might make it back-to-back emerald bowls next year i don't know why any QB would want to come to PSU ever. they suck at developing QB's. SUCK. and what happened to our playmakers? derrick williams is a non-entity these days. Dan Connor and Sean Lee are great, but then what? i sure took guys like Hunt and Hali for granted

    Because he hasn't been posting a 55 OPS+ in the past month, when he's been hitting better than Theriot. his 24 PA's in September aren't a very useful sample size. you know better
