The Cubs still wouldn't have a shot, even if they started with Soto and Vitters. my point is why would they ask for unproven cheap minor leaguers when they could ask for proven, cheap major leaguers? it's not like they want to rebuild again. or do they.... -

yes, after they make the National Title game with one loss (an ass kicking @USC). Their season will end 4 weeks before anyone else's and a lack of conference title game will help their BCS score I wonder just how hated OSU is. Easily the most hated team on this board. I guess we could conduct a poll :-) Notre Dame is more hated on this board

good luck this season. i'm square in the middle of Buckeye country but will be flying my Penn State flag proudly. Word of advice: I'd keep the derogatory nicknames of other schools to a minimum, especially Illinois. You're far, far outnumbered here.....

one thing that's different is that A Bug's Life is good not this again. just because a movie is 2 1/2 hours beyond the limits of your attention span does not mean it's a "bad" movie. but anyway, the basic premise is similar (distraught group seeks warriors to help fight off oppressive others), but diverges from Kurosawa's classic in some pretty obvious ways, most notably it's almost completely different beyond the basic premise. no, not this again, but I've seen really great long movies. That just wasn't one of them.

it's possible that you don't like fontenot because you're completely negative about everything, but you also could've fallen into the trap that so many people on this board fell into - they see a little white guy who's been in the minors for a while and think "there's no way this guy can play" or "lolololol grit." his minor league line of .291/.366/.437/.803 suggests the ability to get on base and provide a little pop. his median pecota projection for this year was .278/.353/.424/.777 - not great for a regular starter, but plenty good for a spot starter who can play either middle infield position. he's been better than expected, but even at his expected level of production, he would've been a useful part of the team. and please everyone, let's start to understand that bat speed has just as much to do with power as size does. hanley ramirez is another good example of this. Hanley is listed at 6'3" 195 lbs. which is not big at all. I'm 6'3" and 170 and skinny as a rail.

ie Carlos Marmol pt.2 Carlos Marmol's pitches still looked good as a starter though. From what I've heard, Shark's pitches seemed less than impressive in the minors, though admittedly I've never seen him pitch before a couple days ago. me either. it's too early to say if he's like Farnsworth or not
