    What? I think both the Nady/Marte and Pudge trades clearly favored the Yankees

    Penn State is in a much worse position than the Packers. It will be sad to see it happen, but it almost should happen. It's about 99% likely that Penn State screws the pooch on the whole thing. They'll either keep him around forever, they'll fire him (PR nightmare), or, if they get him to leave amicably, will just make an internal promotion for new head coach instead of making a splash

    I was listening to the local ESPN radio show yesterday and they were saying that the Favre situation this year is a preview of what we might see with Paterno next year. The difference, of course, is that Paterno's contract is up after this season, but I'm pretty sure he won't leave unless he wants to, no matter how bad the AD wants him gone. If the team wins 8 or 9 games, you can't really fire him either. At least I wouldnt' want to be the AD who will be known for firing a legend

    if MLB keeps approving these Veterans for Peanuts trades for the Yanks, I can see them surpassing the Rays. Tampa is in uncharted territory here, and a collapse down the stretch wouldn't surprise me at all

    Hart's defensive woes have overshadowed his suckiness at the plate I've never seen a series where one OF takes such terrible routes to balls. He turned so many singles into doubles/triples this series

We're talking Hendry here though, he likes to reward players when they don't deserve it (Neifi, Blanco), imagine what he'll offer to someone who is actually good Seems kind of silly to be comparing what Demp has done to anything Blanco and Neifi have done. I'm not comparing them. My point was that Hendry gave multi-year extensions to guys who sucked, so what is he going to offer to someone who actually had a good year
