  1. I changed my vote to Bavasi after reading a summary of the moves he made: Beltre Sexson Vidro Washburn Soriano for Ramirez Wilkerson Bedard Johjima bad up and down
  2. that's just silly-talk. I'm all on board for moving on and not freaking out about tonight, but the better reasons are that we're still a good time, in first place, with plenty of time in the season. Not the get-it-out-of-their-system stuff... my tongue was partially in cheek with that statement
  3. looks like the Rays requested a right-handed pitcher for their next round of BP
  4. extra batting practice for the Rays tonight
  5. you know what? this is good. this hasn't happened to the Cubs in a really long time. get this out of our system and get ready for the Sox
  6. ha ha ha. it's opposite day in Tampa
  7. here's hoping no uppity minorities show solidarity this year
  8. because I feel like the NBA guys are representing themselves (and their shoe sponsorships) more than the country
  9. other countries always allowed their pros. I don't watch the basketball but I would find it difficult to actually root against them. I know it's not unique to the U.S., but that doesn't change my opinion about it. And no, it's not hard to root for Lithuania or Argentina to upset a team of multi-millionaire NBA hot-shots yeah because those other teams are only half multi-millionaire NBA hot shots well the influx of Europeans into the NBA happened well after the 1992 "Dream Team"
  10. Mark Prior was only supposed to miss one start too. Then again, this isn't an official Cubs press release, so there is no reason to believe it's a complete lie (yet)

  12. i try to enjoy the olympics, but my interest has waned to almost zero once they opened the floodgates to pro athletes. It's gotten to the point where I actively root against the US in Olympic Basketball.
  13. Seattle is one of the worst run organizations right now. what a mess
  14. someone just shoot erik here and put him out of his Cubs-induced misery. I'm surprised he's not catatonic by now
  15. the soccer stadiums in Holland are sort of scary, actually. the security they have is insane.
  16. Jack Morris is definitely overrated, but he had his "legendary" World Series game, which apparently is more important than his entire mediocre career. Brady Anderson's "one-hit wonder" season was dripping with steroids.
  17. Quite funny to see the Z melts down cause of bad defense being brought out after he recently calmly got about 8 outs in an inning(was that the 130 pitch game?) because the defense was so terrible. well that and what happened to BMAN89ROCZ His irrational hate towards Derosa was amazing. Also, those nicknames were incredible. he and LLF are like peas in a pod
  18. they don't need pitching. they need bats. Cedeno, Murton and something else for Burnett. Toronto has incentive to get rid of that contract and they can't hit. They have freaking Eckstein or Scutaro at SS for god's sake
  19. i don't go out of my way to watch soccer, but if I end up watching it, I usually enjoy it. the flopping and whining is usually contained to specific teams (cough*brazil*cough).
  20. night game on get-away day before a day game. nice scheduling there MLB
  21. annoying loss, but Cubs still have the fewest losses in the majors
  22. i hate how Kosuke pulls off that outside pitch. drive that mfer
