Jim McMahon played 2 years in Green Bay and he's not exactly putting his life at risk when he shows up to Wrigley Field or any other Chicago establishments. They aren't the same player, but Favre obviously built up a lot more equity in Green Bay than McMahon did in Chicago. He hasn't said anything negative about the fans, just guy who ran him out of town, just like a lot of ex-Bears bad mouthed the McCaskeys. Then again, unlike McMahon, Favre shouldn't be in a position where he as to make appearances in Wisconsin to make a living. Time will absolutely heal the wounds. There will be tons of fans at his HOF induction, and he'll be worshipped whenever he walks into Lambau. I don't know man. Do you have any Packer fan friends? I mean some of these guys already hate him with a passion. I was surprised at how quickly and fully they turned on him. If he goes back into Lambeau, it'll be out of spite -- he's going to Minny to stab at the Packers. One last hurrah to show them how wrong they are. I mean it's a long, sharp drop from where he was 2 years ago. His first move split the Packer fan base in half. I think this one will destroy any he has left. I don't think so. My girlfriend is from Green Bay and thus I know plenty of diehards. Right when he signed with the jets there was about half of "packer nation" that hated him and the other half that still loved him. I was actually at the first preseason game and it seemed like half of the stadium was still wearing favre jerseys. Everyone else was either wearing a Favre jersey with "Favre who" written on the back or some other packers gear. By the end of the season though it seemed much more like the group as a whole (at least, those I knew from GB) had let it go and were still proud of all the great years he had in GB. Hell, the packers were planning on retiring his number this year. I really doubt the scars are still that deep. If he went to the Vikings, they'd hate him for a short time but they'd get over that, too. Hell, Ron Santo ended his career on the southside and look at how he's responded to here. Favre will be fine. That city loved him far, far too much to ever completely turn on him. That said - he still needs to retire. Ron Santo was traded to the White Sox, he didn't bolt town and sign with them. He even said his time on the southside was the worst time of his life. But about Favre, this is just getting ridiculous. He's acting like a diva just like Clemens did. If he wants to play for the Vikings because he wants to play football, then they should bring him back. If this return is all about wanting to stick it to the Packers, then they shouldn't, because guess what, there are 14 other games that need to be played
