    i think it's safe to say that if you plugged Roberts into this lineup all year that he'd have significantly better counting stats, including probably leading the team in runs scored

    seriously, who is the best team in the big east? that's definitely going to be the tallest midget. I'm hoping there is a 4 way tie at the end of the year, all with 4-3 conference records BigTen 1990 Illinois 6-2 Iowa 6-2 Michigan 6-2 Michigan State 6-2 doesn't the big ten use "team that's gone the longest time since winning a big ten title" as the tiebreaker in these situations? if so, how idiotic. That's how they choose who goes to the Rose Bowl, which is usually the same thing (barring getting a team to the BCS title game)

    if either the game at syracuse or at home against temple are competitive, there's a problem. clark looks pretty good as far as making the right decisions, which nobody would ever say about morelli. we shouldn't lose more than 3 games this year, and if we can't beat michigan this year, i'm pretty sure it will never happen. the Illinois game could be a 45-42 type game

    Well of course. He's given a bases loaded situation, he has to throw a strike on the first pitch. That wasn't all that unpredictable. this is why Earl Weaver NEVER brought a reliever into a bases loaded situation

    PSU's O-Line is really good, which makes Daryll Clark better. This team should easily be 4-0 heading into the game with the Illini

    my FSN-Cincinnati HD suddenly turned off mid-inning and says "to order, call blah blah blah". WTF?

    yes, but Lou has used Howry nearly twice as many innings, so though Gagne's earned run AVERAGE is worse, Howry has actually given up more runs. Granted, that's Lou's fault to a degree.....

    Here's what I don't get about the "panic". Yes, the team lost 6 in a row. But how is losing 6 in a row worse than, say, losing the first 2 games to PHI, then winning 1, losing the next 2, losing 1, then winning the next 2? It's still losing 6 of 8 games, but the fact that the 6 losses came in a row suddenly has everyone jumping off cliffs
