I don't see Pie as a deal breaker. Given how Pie's value is right now, I expect that they would get a minor league filler at the lower levels. Even with a bad Cubs' system, I would be thrilled if whomever they get would come close to cracking the top 30. Cedeno prob. has the most value of the 3. Trading Pie at this point is ignorant. Trading him for major league filler is even more ridiculous. I don't understand the rush to get rid of a guy that 1)is cheap 2) plays excellent defense 3) has proven himself at every level so far. Give the guy a chance already. If one of the OF's get hurt I would much rather give the time to Pie and see what he can do, than play some career backup. he's out of options, so you either need to make room for him on the major league bench or risk losing him for nothing

it's amazing that only 20 years ago pitchers were throwing complete games left and right. hard to believe that the world of pitching has changed that much in two decades. we complained about the abuse put on Wood and Prior's arms at young ages, but Dwight Gooden pitched 10 innings in a playoff game (at age 21) and no one blinked

i was just giving him a hard time for being from oklahoma. i hope they fail, though, because i want fond du lac to get a pro basketball team and i think we have a better chance. if a total crap town like Green Bay can support an NFL team, pretty much any town USA could support a team (theoretically)

LOL yeah, you really need to back up 5 feet with a guy in the air. it's the same thing as taking a guy's legs out. he was trying to do it, he knew he was in the air and vulnerable. you're right, everyone's out to get the Illini.
