  1. fun fact: In the 3 games since Fukudome was moved to the "leadoff" spot, he has only lead off an inning 2 more times than Soriano (7-5).
  2. Here's a very nice set of reasons why Soriano should never be put back at leadoff: .213 BA .263 OBP .299 SLG .562 OPS 174 AB Some nice playoff numbers there. This defense of Soriano at leadoff simply needs to end. It hasn't worked for the Cubs. The Cubs have improved dramatically since removing him from that spot, and are now on a roll of sorts. The leadoff hitter should have an OBP over .350. Making the pitcher throw more pitches so teammates can see what the pitcher has to offer "live" is also an important skill. Getting the pitch count up on playoff pitching is also important. There's more to that position than meets the eye. Soriano should never bat there again. and since the "leadoff" hitter leads off every inning, this is very very important.
  3. Maybe if he gains 50 lbs. and gets hit in the face with a shovel I could see the similarities
  4. wrigley23 is totally right. I'd even go so far as to say that batting him 6th isn't taking it far enough. Any time after the first inning that Soriano is slated to lead off, Lou should pinch-hit for him immediately.
  5. I've tempered my enthusiasm by reminding myself that Cutler could very well be the Milton Bradley of football this year.
  6. as a nickname for wrigley23? I like it
  7. 1. Bradley 2. Theriot 3. Lee 4. Fox 5. Fukudome 6. Soriano 7. Soto 8. Fontenot
  8. perhaps Sam Fuld is wearing the hat Lou kicked.....
  9. Which means AI to the Bulls makes absolutely NO SENSE at all. As for SG I think I much rather see Hinrich and Salmons split time there (depending on matchup) instead of bringing in some crappy or over-the-hill SG that doesn't help the Bulls. Yeah, I guess if we think Salmons can guard other teams' 2's then he'll be there, as the roster is awfully forward heavy right now
  10. Bulls HAVE to sign or trade for a SG though, right? IF Gordon is gone, the only SG's listed on the roster are Lindsey Hunter (lol), Demarcus Nelson and Anthony Roberson. How would AI fit? He's 6' tall in shoes, so he isn't going to guard other teams' SG's, and he isn't going to displace Rose. I can't imagine he'd be happy coming off the bench.
  11. I heard they've not only named Fuld an All-Star starter, but they've already given him the NL MVP
  12. no, I'm not pining for Aardsma (nor did I lament him being traded). all I'm saying is that in hindsight, one is better than the other, that's all. Now we have neither, so time to explore other options
  13. Guess you haven't paid much attention to him this year Oh, come on man. We're all capable of looking his stats up. We all know what he's doing this year. Two things though...I'm still not going to lose sleep over trading him, and if you say you thought he'd even have one decent season in the future, you're a liar. I'm not losing sleep either, but let's not pretend the trade was a wash
  14. Guess you haven't paid much attention to him this year
  15. I don't know who Jon Greenberg is, but no Jon, just no http://espn.go.com/chicago/story?columnist=greenberg_jon&id=4302520
  16. doesn't look like many of us are going to be close on anything.
  17. RIP Neal Cotts. You''ll always have whatever that year for the White Sox was
  18. Heilman on a mission to raise his WHIP, I see
