I can't even give a sarcastic joking answer. I really just have no clue. I was hoping Von would snap him out of it at least a little bit. It really makes no sense. Even "bad" Soriano should be good for a .250-ish average and a HR a week...he hasn't even managed that -

Your clearly just trying to bait us, but I will bite anyways. Illinois is coming out of a down cycle, and we have still made the tournament 9 out of the last 10 years. There is plenty of reason for Illini fans to feel good about upcoming years with the recruiting we have done. So yes I am excited, and no I am not ready to order the banners yet. To touch on a previous point by Sully.... Weber going out and starting the recruiting process with 8th and 9th graders is brilliant as it keeps Illini fans in a constant state of "just a year away" fantasy land. Not that I'm rooting against you guys.....I'd love for just about any Big Ten team to win it all again.

After reading this thread, I can't imagine that could be true. He does seem like he has a chip on his shoulder. Sort of a "holier than thou" sense of demeanor about him... but he's still hilarious, and I can't imagine he treats his teammates like crap. Maybe they don't like his opinion of himself, but I doubt he's Jack Parkman in the clubhouse Eccentric can sometimes rub people the wrong way particularly in a sport populated mostly by good ol' boys and latinos
