  1. Hopefully June Marquis shows up. Go Cubs!
  2. I don't think they're worried about them as much as they want to see how they do against Tampa at the Trop after the Cubs poor showing. That's why I posted that game in the OP.
  3. Holy crap, that PS3 commercial is way too epic. It's just a machine, guys. JUST A MACHINEEE!!!! (props if you get that joke,)
  4. Ok thanks for the help!
  5. What happens to a pitcher's ERA if they come in, allow runs, and then leave without getting any outs. For example, yesterday Marmol came in and allowed 4 ER and then left without recording any outs. His ERA went up from 2.09 to 2.93. What would it be if this was his first appearance of the year? Infinity? The ERA formula is 9 * (ER/IP), but you can't divide 4/0. Thanks in advance.
  6. Not sure if this is sarcasm.... It's not. I don't trust Howry at all. It's a tie game now, we need to lock them down here. Did you miss last night's game? I think he was just rusty and was therefore wild. Some people said he was wild warming up too.
  7. The gum, or Murton. I mean, he doesn't really like Matt
  8. Who's singing the stretch today? WGN didn't show it.
  9. Why? We're usually down, that's easy to deal with. Being up is unusual, and it makes us nervous. Valid...makes sense. But to me it's more like, "Wow, we're actually pretty good." I'm more relaxed this year and find myself looking at the big picture a lot more. Not me. I'm more fired up this year than ever. I am pissed even if we're only up by a run or two. I guess I just feel that this is the closest we're ever going to get to having a WS-caliber team, and this is our only chance for another 20 years or so. Why, we don't have any pending FA departures and we're still a young ballclub. If anything we'll be even better next season as our young talent develops and we add a pitcher or two. Cubs aren't very young. The best hitters (Lee, Rameriez, Soriano, etc.) are in their prime. The window is probably this year and maybe next. I'll take two championships in a row. It's not necessary that the Cubs are guaranteed to win those years, just that the window to win a title are those years. This is probably the Cubs best chance with all those players in their prime, with next year a possibility as well.

  11. Nice inning by Lilly, let's hope he has that early game 80s fastball crap over with.
  12. Yup. At least. In two months when we are running away with the division we will look at this week and laugh All the other NL Central teams are going to die in plane crashes and have to be replaced by their AAA affliliates? the crew is really hot right now And yet, I am still not concern with them, simply because look who is still managing the Brewers. So, even tho they are playing well, there are not a concern, atleast not to me. The Cardinals will fade, but the Brewers will get better, despite Yost's best efforts. I think that we'll hang on to the division and Milwaukee takes the WC.
