  1. close but no cigar Close? Oh yeah, a few inches to the left, and that would've been a "bomb". Maybe an inside the parker
  2. He occasionally updates his blog on his website, Fukudome1.com. However, of course he writes in Japanese. Fortunately, Bleed Cubbie Blue has a Japanese member, dragonsfanatic, who gives a rough translation on the latest entry. You can also use the Translation feature on Google. It's not perfect, but decent. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.fukudome1.com/&sa=X&oi=translate&resnum=1&ct=result&prev=/search%3Fq%3DFukudome1%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26hs%3Dn4d Reading the blog, it seems he loves the city and the fans, despite those headbands.
  3. Jon Miller's trying to talk to the players.
  4. http://images.usatoday.com/life/_photos/2006/06/09/louie.jpg I can see the resemblance.
  5. He said because players like Theriot are not easily fooled and are pesky. NSBB translation: Theriot's grittier than A-Ram and Lee.
  6. I don't, because it seems like it happens more often when the Cubs are batting then pitching. That's a pretty interesting stat. Anybody know if we turn or ground into more DPs? 56 DPs while batting, 57 pitching according to Baseball Reference, and that's not counting today. Wow, another example of perception vs the stats. I guess it's because a lot of the DPs we ground into are by one player, D Lee.

  8. The obligatory Bartman reference was in the intro. They got it out of the way early today.
  9. dived ?? must be a Louisiana thang, eh? Dived is an acceptable form. Link But enough about grammar, hit it hard Lee! I say dived too, and I'm from North Carolina. It's a real word, but maybe a southern term :) .
  10. Kosuke steals 2nd. Patterson walks. Vasquez still hasn't thrown a strike
  11. Perhaps she's saying Crede needs to be overpaid? I don't know.
  12. So true. White Sox fans are probably pissed they weren't even mentioned in the intro. I can't blame them though. They are still in first, and deserve some attention. At least they had that little Ozzie montage.
  13. At the end of the intro, they should've had a person in a White Sox cap saying "And the White Sox are playing too!"
  14. Another bold managerial move by Lou. But it's going to be awfully unfortuante if a ball finds it's way into right field.
  15. What's up with the whole wearing Pats/Celtics/BoSox shirts at games regardless of which team is playing. For example, I saw a couple people wearing Celtics shirts just now, and a couple pink Tom Brady jerseys. The Bruins feel unloved...
  16. Red Sox win!!! Kevin Youkillis!
  17. The wall took away two homers this inning: one Cardinals, and one Red Sox.
