  1. Wow Nebraska. Suh needs to block the FG now.
  2. They have like 80 yards of offense, and I still think this. It's amazing.
  3. http://gazetteonline.com/files/2009/10/rhoads-300x264.jpg LOL Zac Lee. Nebraska's offense is incredibly bad.
  4. texas, if Nebraska wins Hopefully. That would presumably edge out the Big Ten teams. More likely Boise. Yeah, I doubt the bowls pass up a Big 10 team if they have the chance.
  5. I don't think it's that likely. It didn't happen when Michigan lost to OSU a few years ago, and Florida had a loss that year. I'm not an expert on voters though.
  6. Texas loss + Cincy not jumping them + voters not wanting an SEC rematch.
  7. I don't know, I thought Pitt would win but I didn't think Wannstedt would be outcoaching Kelly this badly.
  8. He's just trying to ensure a just result. Mizzou won 2 more games than ISU, beat them head to head, have better TV potential/star power, have a better recent history, and all evidence points to them bringing better numbers to the game than ISU. There's no logical reason for the Insight to pick Iowa State. I really don't have a problem with Missouri going to the Insight over ISU. Obviously Missouri is more deserving than ISU. That's not even debatable. I would debate that Missouri would bring better numbers, because they do travel pretty well, are more excited to be in the game, and the Insight wouldn't be considering this if they thought they'd lose money on the deal. Now publicly supporting one conference school over another aside (awful), I have no problem if Bebee wants to encourage the Insight to take a more deserving team. I mean, he's said similar things about 7-5 Oklahoma likely jumping them for the Sun Bowl, and the potential for 6-6 Texas A&M to jump them for the Indy Bowl, right? If he was really worried about this he could have done the same thing the Big 10 did and stipulate in the bowl contracts that they can't pick a team unless they're within one game of the best remaining overall record. That hasn't happened, probably because it would hurt Texas/Oklahoma/A&M/Nebraska more often than the Missouri's, Iowa State's, and Baylor's of the conference. In fact, just one month ago Bebee proposed changes to ensure 6-6 teams are treated equally in the bowl selection process. He may be fighting for a just result this time, but it's not because he's overly interested in seeing teams with better records go to better bowl games.
  9. That would be great for ISU. Good location and they're projected to play Minnesota instead of some SEC team in Shreveport that would probably kill them. Crappy TV deal is the only drawback, but I can live with it. It sounds like the Fiesta/Insight are run by the same people, and they might be interested in bringing both Iowa schools there for $$$ purposes. That could potentially mean Nebraska, Minnesota, Iowa, and Iowa State fans all in the same city though, so they might lose money paying for riot damage. An Iowa/ISU vs Nebby/Minny tag team match would be an absolute massacre. ISU will have more fans than UN-L and the Goofers combined. Then you add 40-50,000 Hawk fans? I don't know about that. ISU travels well for it's level of accomplishment but unless Nebraska doesn't travel well to BCS games I doubt we outdraw them. I think there were 20,000 ISU fans at the 2000 game, which is great but not what I'd expect from a Fiesta Bowl team with that kind of program history. We can probably outdraw Minny, and obviously Iowa will bring a ridiculous number, but we wouldn't want to be on their tag team anyway. And it might not matter anyway because the Big 12 commissioner is an ass and is publicly lobbying for Missouri over Iowa State.
  10. Exhibit A http://bluegraysky.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html#7014119063071457519 Hahaha, that's awesome. The best part is ESPN and NBC running a story about it 24 hours after the e-mail was sent. Also, nice move by Bielema no commenting on it. Must be going for a raise.
  11. Looks like Pitt and New Hampshire had a real barn burner tonight. Pitt led 15-7 at halftime. That blows away the old record for combined score at halftime by 6 points.
  12. Iowa State will lose @Cal by 3 or something. Brackens will eat up Cal's soft front line like nothing else. Doubt it. Brackins is pretty soft himself. Yeah, he got pretty owned by Shurna in the paint vs. NU Cal being soft is good, but the key to stopping Brackins is double teaming him the second he gets the ball and forcing him to pass. If Cal does that, and Brackins isn't hitting his unstoppable 10-15 foot jumpers, they can contain him and force someone else to score. Last year that meant either Garrett would try to drive into the lane and probably turn it over, or they'd use the Iowa playbook that was just posted. This year they added Gilstrap, Christopherson, and Colvin who can create a shot and free up shooters like Staiger, but for some reason that hasn't worked very well against real competition.
  13. Iowa State will lose @Cal by 3 or something.
  14. The Pac 10 Championship Game (nice that all the BCS conferences decided to schedule one this year) has been pretty good so far. Oregon State leading 23-21 at half.
  15. That was crazy. He somehow released that between the clock hitting zero and the light going off.
  16. Apparently ISU isn't that good after all. Blew another game in the final minutes, this time at home to UNI.
  18. Houston has a history of running up the score. Back in the Andre Ware days they hung 95 on post death penalty SMU. Ended up covering a 59 point spread by 15 points, and they won 6 games by 45+ that year.
  19. That loss aside, I like ISU this year. They'll be a tough team. If only they'd been able to keep Wes Johnson. Yeah, Johnson would be nice. Either way, this is the best ISU has looked under McDermott by far, and I think they have a decent chance to make the tourney. I just wish he wouldn't keep our second best player (Gilstrap) out for the last 4 minutes of a close game, or burn a second timeout in the huddle to draw up a contested, fade away three to tie.
  20. Some questionable late game coaching and a stagnant offense in the last 10 minutes did Iowa State in against Northwestern. A bit of a reality check, though NW looks pretty good for a team with two starters out for the year.
  21. Thanks for making it official Mizzou. Shreveport/Houston/Phoenix here we come!
  22. Mizzou's defense is not. We better not put Kansas in a [expletive] bowl game. It's probably going to be between ISU and Kansas for the last Big 12 bowl tie-in, so please don't.
  23. Iowa State had an UGLY 65-54 win over St. Louis tonight in Chicago. Couldn't get a shot in the lane to go down (Brackins excluded). Thankfully St. Louis couldn't hit a three to save their lives and it wasn't all that close in the second half. Depth is a wonderful thing. Northwestern tomorrow, which might not be as good as Notre Dame from an SOS standpoint, but at least I get to see it on TV.
