As much as Id prefer Jake Foxs bat, Im going to have to admit we need someone who can play a competant third base. Scales has put up solid minor league numbers for us, so hopefully he'll make the most out of his cup of coffee. As for Fox, if Joey Gathright continues to be as useful as a copy of Maxim, to Stevie Wonder, Fox will get his shot. Is Scales competent at 3rd? I'm sure he's better than Fox, but his minor league fielding percentage at 3rd is .897. It's a flawed stat and a fairly small sample size (121 games), but when it's that low it sets off some red flags. I'm guessing that Scales or Miles will play 2B and they keep Fontenot at 3B.
